Auton vaihto / Car exchange

Ostin uuden vanhan auton, Citroen C3. Vm 2014. Ja nyt on totuttelemista tähän hieman suurempaan autoon. Kun Micra oli sellainen söpö pieni. Mutta siinä oli katsastuksessa niin paljon vikoja, ettei kannattanut enää korjata. Ja olihan se jo vanhakin, vm. 2004. Ajoin sitä liki 20 vuotta. Minä todella rakastin Micraa, jos voi sanoa rakastavansa autoa.

En aikonut ostaa uutta autoa tilalle, ajattelin olla hetken ilman autoa, 

mutta sain niin hyvän tilaisuuden, että se piti käyttää hyväksi.

I bought a new old car, a Citroen C3, year model 2014. And now it's time to get used to this slightly bigger car. The former Micra was such a cute little one. But it had so many defects during the inspection that it was not worth repairing anymore. And it was already old, year model 2004. I drove it for almost 20 years. And I really loved it, if you can love a car.

I wasn't going to buy a new car to replace it, I thought I'd be without a car for a while, 

but I got such a good opportunity that I had to take advantage of it.

Kirsikankukkia ja romuauto / Cherry blossoms and a scrap car

 

Vihdoinkin meille tuli lämpö, tälle viikolle luvattu jopa 25 °C. Kirsikkapuut kukkii.

We finally got some heat, up to 25 °C was promised for this week. The cherry trees are blooming.

Naaåurikaupungissa Hyvinkäällä on paikka nimeltä Sveitsi. Siellä on hotelli ja kylpylä ym. toimintaa kuin myös talvella laskettelukeskus. Pitihän siellä poiketa, kun tytär asuu Sveitsissä. On hauska yhteensattuma.

In a neighboring city (Hyvinkää) there is a place called Sveitsi (Switzerland). There is a hotel and a spa and other activities as well as a skiing center in the winter. I had to drop by there as my daughter lives in Switzerland (Sveitsi in Finnish), it's a funny coincidence.

Totta kai minun piti kavuta tuonne ylös tosi huonokuntoista tietä pitkin.

Of course I had to climb up a really bad road.

Huipulla odotti odottamaton näky, romuauto.

Vanhojen autojen paraati / Parade of old cars

Vapun päivän toinen paraati oli vanhat autot.

The second parade on First of May was the old cars.

Autot ajoivat letkassa edestakaisin pääkatua pitkin. Oli kiva katsoa erilaisia autoja.

Cars drove back and forth along the main street. It was nice to see different cars.

Tässä kaksi suosikkiani. / Here are two of my favorites.

Autot oli tarkoituksella jätetty näin vanhan ja kunnostamattoman näköisiksi, kertoi eräs mies.

These cars were deliberately left looking so old and unrenovated, said one man.

Eräs auto kaasutti tahallaan, ja sai aikaan mahtavan häkäpilven.

One car gassed on purpose, and created a great cloud of carbon monoxide.

Keväinen toritapahtuma / Spring market event

Kevät on tullut ja lumi sulannut. Se suli nopeasti, parissa päivässä.

Riihimäen keskusta on aika usein lähes autio silloin kun keskustassa kävelen.

Spring has come and the snow has melted. It melted quickly, within a couple of days.

The center of Riihimäki is quite often almost deserted when I walk there.

Sunnuntaina oli autotapahtuma torilla. Ja huomasin taas kerran, että onhan täällä ihmisiä.

On Sunday, there was a car event at the market. And I noticed that there are people here, after all.

Tällaisilla mönkijöillä nuoriso ajelee täällä, tosin vanhemmilla malleilla.

ATVs like this are used by the youth here, albeit with older models.

Vanhaa tavaraa. / Old stuff.

Ei vielä ole heitetty kaikkia talvivaatteita pois. Mutta pikkuhiljaa. Tälle viikolle on povattu +17 °C.

Not all winter clothes have been thrown away yet. But little by little. +17 °C is predicted for this week.

Silmut aukenivat nopeasti ja pian on vihreät lehdet puissa. Toivottavasti, pitkän talven jälkeen.

The buds opened quickly and soon there will be green leaves on the trees. Hopefully, after a long winter.

Neljä valkoista / Four white ones

Kolme autoa ja yksi rättäri. / Three cars and one 2CV.

Meillä oli 1970-1980 -luvuilla yhteensä neljä rättäriä, mutta sitten muutettiin vajaa kahdeksi vuodeksi Saksaan ja piti saada "oikea" auto. Nykyisin kun joskus harvoin näen rättärin, se sykähdyttää ja tuo ihanat muistot mieleen. Eli ei ole vaikea arvata, mikä on suosikkiautoni noista neljästä.

We had a total of four 2CV in the 1970-1980, but then we moved to Germany for about two years and had to get a "real" car. Nowadays, when I rarely see a 2CV, it sensitizes me and brings back great wonderful memories. So it is not difficult to guess which is my favorite car out of these four ones.

Tänään on parempi päivä. Mustelmat, jotka sain kaatumisesta, ovat haalistumassa, 

ja polvikin on paranemaan päin. Tosin se ei taida vielä kestää tanssimista.

Today is a better day. The bruises I got from the fall are fading and the knee is on the mend. 

Although, I don't think it can stand dancing yet.

Ihanaa vanhaa / Lovely old ones

 

Tällä autolla ei ole ajettu aikoihin, kun kanatkin on ehtineet tehdä pesän.

This car hasn't been driven in a while, when even the chickens have had time to build a nest.

Pihassa, jossa oli edellisen postauksen ralliauto, oli myös muitakin vanhoja autoja ja työkaluja.

In the yard where the rally car from the previous post was, there were also other old cars and tools.
