Liikuttiinpa kävellen lähiseutuja tai autolla kauempana, niin aina maisemat oli yhtä fantastiset.

Whether we walked nearby or drove further afield, the scenery was always just as spectacular.

Sveitsi / Switzerland 3 - Hallwyl Castle

Kävimme ihan oikeassa linnassa. Hallwyn castle on 1200 -luvulta. Minusta oli mielenkiintoista tutustua linnan eri kolkkiin ja miettiä ihmisiä, jotka tuolloin asuttivat linnan, sekä heidän elämäänsä.

We visited the real castle. Hallwyn Castle is from the 1200s. I found it interesting to get to know different corners of the castle and to think on the people who were then inhabiting the castle, as well as their lives.

Ensimmäinen maininta linnasta on vuodelta 1256. Alkuperäinen vapaa Hallwylin aatelissuku mainittiin kuitenkin ensimmäisen kerran testamentissa vuodelta 1167. Jotkut löydöt osoittavat, että linna on perustettu 1100-luvun lopulla. Hallwylin linna oli Hallwylin herrojen kotilinna, jotka omistivat ympäröivän maan ja osia järvestä henkilökohtaisena omaisuutenaan.

The first mention of the castle is in the year 1256. However, the originally free noble family of Hallwyl were first mentioned in a testament from 1167. Some discoveries indicate that the castle was founded in the late 12th century. Hallwyl Castle was the home castle of the Lords of Hallwyl, who owned the surrounding land and parts of the lake as their personal property.

Kierreportaita oli paljon, ja joka kerroksessa oli isohko päähuone, josta pääsi 3-4 pienempään huoneeseen.

There were plenty of spiral staircases, and on each floor there was a large main room from which 3-4 smaller rooms could be accessed.

Sveitsi / Switzerland 2 – Reiden

 

Vierailuni tärkein syy oli Mikon konfirmaatio. Ne vietettiin Luterilaisessa kirkossa. 

The main reason for my visit was Mikko's confirmation. They were celebrated in the Lutheran Church.

Täällä oli kiva tapa; vanhemmat kirjoittivat lapun, jossa kertoivat mitä toivovat rippilapselleen ja millä tavoin he siihen kannustavat. Paperiin liitettiin myös yhteystiedot tarkoituksena, että satunnainen löytäjä toimittaisi paperin nuorelle. Ja sitten ne paperit sidottiin heliumilmapalloon ja päästettiin irti.

There was a nice habit here; parents wrote a note telling what they hoped to their child and how they would encourage it. Contact information was also in the paper to the occasional finder who would

deliver the note back to the young person. And after it papers were bound in a helium balloon.

Sveitsi / Switzerland 1

Olen kotiutunut Sveitsin reissulta. Kuinka voi olla, että matkailu väsyttää, kun kotiin saapuu..

Loma oli aivan ihastuttava ja oli taivaallista nähdä tyttäreni ja lastenlapseni. Sveitsi on kaunis ja monipuolinen maa, ja se vie kerta toisensa jälkeen sydämeni. Reiden on pieni kylä (vuonna 2008 oli 6400 asukasta), joten ulkoilumahdollisuuksia oli paljon. Hellettä piisasi, 30-34 °C, eli kun lenkkeiltiin, ei päivällä ollut liikkeellä muita kuin me hullut turistit (eli minä ja tyttäreni, joka leikki turistia). Kukkuloita on joka puolella, en ole eläessäni kävellyt niin paljon ylämäkiä kuin täällä.

I have returned from a trip to Switzerland. How can it be that tourism gets tired when you arrive home ..

The holiday was absolutely delightful and it was very nice to see my daughter and grandchildren. Switzerland is a beautiful and diverse country and it takes my heart time and time again. Reiden is a small village (2008 had 6,400 inhabitants), so there were plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities. It was hot, 30-34 °C, that is, when we were hiking, during the day on the move there was nothing but crazy tourists (i.e. me and my daughter, who played tourist). There are hills everywhere, I haven’t walked as many uphills in my life as I have here.
