Talviuintipaikka / Winter swimming place

 

Jos olisi rohkeutta, kävisin avantouinnilla. Kylmä vesihän vie pois kaiken kolotuksen ja vaivan.

Mutta olen arka, ja pidän omat kolotukset itsellä edelleenkin....

If I had the guts, I'd go hole in the ice swimming. After all, cold water removes all pain and discomfort.

But I'm timid and I keep all my pain to myself....

Ainakin toinen menee uimaan. En jäänyt katselemaan. Lämpötila -10 C.

At least the other one goes swimming. I didn't stay to watch. Temperature -10 C

Iloinen avantouimari / Happy winter swimmer

 

Taas on se aika vuodesta, kun talviuimarit pääsee avantoon uimaan. Pakkasta jotain -6 °C. 

Tämä ei ole minun juttu, palelen jo ajatustakin mennä veteen. Mutta kieltämättä kylmässä uimimisella on paljon hyviä terveysvaikutuksia - sanovat he jotka tietävät.

It's that time of the year again when winter swimmers can go to swim in hole in the ice. 

Freeze was about -6 °C. This is not my thing, I'm already freezing at the thought of going into the water. But without a doubt, swimming in the cold has many good health effects - say those who know.

Talvi tuli jälleen. Pakkasta -7 °C, kylmä viima, ja mun näpit paleli. 

Satuin kävelemään ohi, kun näin tämän uimarin.

Winter came again. -7 °C frost, cold wind, and my fingers froze. 

Coincidentally I saw this brave man, as I walked past.

Talviharrastus / Winter hobby - Ja perjantain heijastus / Reflection

Viime sunnuntaina olin Oittaalla Bodominjärven rannalla.
Siellä  on huisin iso avanto. Vilu tuli jo katsellessa.

Some shots from last Sunday in a outdoor place at Lake Bodom in Espoo.
There is also a huge hole in the ice for swimming. 
It's real Finnish winter hobby. (The swimmers are usually at first and after in the Sauna = a hot room.) 
I felt cold by only watching them. On the ice there are also skiers and walkers.
