Kivenlahden pysäköintitalo / Parking house

 

Parkkihalli on jo valmis. / The parking garage is already ready.

Kivenlahden pysäköintilaitos rakennettiin palvelemaan metroaseman liityntäpysäköintiä. Pysäköintitaloon rakentui 650 pysäköintipaikkaa autoille ja 50 polkupyörille. Pysäköintitalossa on myös 22 sähköauton latauspaikkaa. Pysäköintilaitoksen katolle asennettiin aurinkovoimala, joka tuottaa sähköä pysäköintilaitoksen omaan kulutukseen. Voimalan huipputeho on 100 kWp.

The Kivenlahti parking facility was built to serve the metro station's connection parking. 650 parking spaces for cars and 50 for bicycles were built in the parking building. There are also 22 electric car charging points in the parking garage. A solar power plant was installed on the roof of the parking facility, which produces electricity for the parking facility's own consumption. The peak power of the power plant is 100 kWp.

Liikenneympyrässä on vanha ankkuri, joka kuvastaa merellistä Kivenlahtea.

There is an old anchor in the traffic circle, which reflects the maritime Kivenlahti.

Pysäköintitaloon liitetään taakse iso kulttuurirakennus.

Minulla on edessä kiva viikko – tytär Virve ja poikansa Matti tulee lomalle Sveitsistä. Minulla on monia suunnitelmia, saa nähdä mitkä toteutuu. Mutta sää on epävarmaa, on ennustettu sateista viikkoa. Kun muualla Euroopassa kärvistellään paahtavissa helteissä, niin meillä on sangen mukavat olot, lämpöä "vain" 20-22 °C, siis aivan ihanan oloista, jos vain ei sada koko aikaa. 

I have a nice week ahead of me – my daughter Virve and her son Matti are coming on vacation from Switzerland. I have a lot of plans, we'll see what happens. But the weather is uncertain, a week of rain is predicted. When the rest of Europe is scorching hot, so we have very nice conditions, the temperature is "only" 20-22 °C, it's absolutely wonderful if only it doesn't rain all the time.

Pieni lintutorni / Little bird tower

 

Samalla reissulla eilen Kirkkonummella löysin tooosi pitkät pitkospuut.

On the same trip yesterday in Kirkkonummi, I found really long walking trees.

(I don't know how to call these trees in English.)

Ja pitkospuiden päässä oli söpö pieni lintutorni (Medvastö).

And a cute little bird tower was found at the end of the tall trees. (In the tower you can watch birds with binoculars and also take photos, that's why i's calling bird tower, it's not a fire watchtower)

Matalastakin saa tuntuman, että olisi korkealla.

Even though it is low, you get the feeling that you are high up.

Jossain / Anywhere

 

Ajelin taas Kirkkonummelle, ja tuli tuttu silta vastaan (Långvik, n 7 km kotoa).

I drove again to Kirkkonummi (Espoo's neighboring municipality) 

and found a familiar bridge (Långvik, approx. 7 km from home).

Lähdin kävelemään tietä pitkin ja olin taas jossain ei missään. Mutta se oli mielenkiintoista, kun tuli pari autoa vastaan, ajajat moikkasivat kädenheilautuksella - ventovieraat. 

Tuli kiva mieli, että näin täällä maalla.

I started walking along the road and I was suddenly somewhere in nowhere. But it was interesting when two cars drove by, the drivers greeted me with a wave of their hands - the strangers. I felt nice.

I had to take a photo of these cafe tables, quite special.

Ei ole vaikea arvata, mikä rakennus tämä on.

It's not difficult to guess which building this is.

Rantaraitin peruskorjaus / Basic repair of the beach

 

Rantatietä remontoidaan eli parannetaan. Syy on tulvavaara. Muutaman kerran vuosien varrella vesi on noussut johtuen rankkasateista ja myrskyistä. Nyt tässä päässä raitille meno on kielletty ja parannuskorjaukset jatkuvat koko raitin pituudelta ja valmistuu 2024 kesällä.

The beach road is being improved. The reason is the risk of flooding. A few times over the years the water has risen due to heavy rains and storms. Now it is forbidden to go to the beach at this end and the improvement repairs will continue along the entire length of the beach and will be completed in the summer of 2024.

Toivottavasti kaikkia puita ja pensaita ei poisteta.

Hopefully not all trees and bushes will be removed.

Träskändan luontopolku / Nature trail

Träskändassa on luontopolku, joka on 3 km pituinen ja se vie joen viertä pitkin Bemböleen. 

On aina kiva löytää uusi polku, joka on kuitenkin suht. lähellä kotoa. Tosin nyt en kävellyt koko matkaa kun auto oli tässä päässä ja ei huvittanut kävellä edestakaisin yhteensä 6 km.

Träskända has a nature trail that is 3 km long and leads along the river to Bemböle.

It's always nice to find a new path that's still relatively close to home. Although I didn't walk now the whole way because my car was at this place and I didn't mind walking a total of 6 km back and forth.

Kävelin ehkä pisteelle 6. Ensi kerralla sitten koko matka ja takaisin.

I probably walked to the points 6. Next time, the whole trip and back.

 

Träskändan puistossa / In the Manor park of Träskända

Kävin katsomassa vasta restauroitua Träskändan kartanon julkivua. Ja hienohan siitä oli tullut, sillä sen oli annettu rapistua vuosikaudet. Mutta sisätilojen remontointi vie aikaa, ei vissiin ole edes aloitettukaan vielä. Ja kun tämä on lähellä (tosin automatkan päässä) niin tulee käytyä useammankin kerran. (Träskändan kartano perustettiin 1700-luvun lopussa, Wikipedia ja Hagerlund)

I went to see the newly restored facade of the Manor of Träskända in Espoo. And it had turned out great, because it had been allowed to decay for years. But the renovation of the interior takes time, and it hasn't even started yet, I think. And when this place is nearby (albeit a car ride away), I will visit it several times. (Träskända manor was founded in the end 18th century.)

All the trees are big and old.  And thick branches of trees often grow horizontally, looks funny.
