Ongelmia köysien kanssa? / Problems with ropes?

Pelat noukki katsojista lisävahvistusta köysistä kiinnipitävien avuksi.

Pelat picked up additional reinforcements from the spectators to help those holding on to the ropes.

En ole aivan varma, että nämä neljä miestä olisi olleet pelkästään katsojia. Luulen, että he olivat avustajia. Mutta joka tapauksessa he osasivat hyvin näytellä.

I don't really believe that these four men were just spectators. I think they were assistants.

But in any case, they knew how to act.

Loppuhuipennus - tangon päähän kiipeäminen. 

Ja tanko oli pystyssä pelkästään neljän miehen pitämien köysien varassa.

Final climax - climbing to the end of the pole. 

And the pole was standing only on the ropes held by four men.

Viikonloppuna oli tosi hauska katusirkus torillamme. Se oli pääosin yhden miehen show.

There was a really fun street circus at our market this weekend. It was essentially a one-man show.

Pelat käveli ympäriinsä tanko harteilla piirrellen liidulla merkkejä maahan.

Pelat walked around with a pole on his shoulders and drew marks  with chalk on the ground.

Upeasti hän piti katsojien mielenkiinnon yllä, vaikkei meillä ollut aavistustakaan mitä tuleman piti.

He kept wonderfully the audience's interest, even though we had no idea what was going to happen.

Hän noukki yleisön joukosta neljä miestä, jotka joutuivat toteuttamaan kaikenlaisia hauskoja juttuja.

He picked four men from the audience who had to do all kinds of funny things.

Kaiken hassuttelun jälkeen alkoi tolpan pystytys, mikä sekin oli eräänlainen show.

After all the fun, the pole started to be erected, which was also a kind of show.

Kesän viime helteet / The last summer heat

 

Viimeiset hellepäivät. Ensi viikolla povataan jo syksyä ja kylmenevää.

The last warm days. Next week we are already expecting autumn and getting colder.

Luonto on niin lähellä, että tuntuu kuin olisi kaukana kaikesta uuden rakentamisesta.

Nature is so close that you feel as if you are far away from all the new construction.

Näin tämän jo toukokuussa, kun olin Hesassa, ja edelleen nyt elokuussa.

Ihmettelin toukokuussa tuolikasaa, mutta nyt tiedän, että tämä on kierrätysmateriaalista rakennettu 

Tadashi Kawamatan teos "Pesä".

I saw this for the first time in May when I was in Helsinki, and again this August.

 I wondered about the pile of chairs in May, but now I know that this is Tadashi Kawamata's work "Nest" built from recycled material.

Vielä on vähän jäljellä / There's still some left

Vanha ostari "Pikkulaiva" on jo lähes kokonaan purettu. Pilarit vain törröttävät enää pystyssä.

The old shopping center "Pikkulaiva" has already been almost completely demolished. 

The pillars are just standing upright.

Vasemmalla oli "Pikkulaiva", oikealla on uusi ostari "Lippulaiva" sekä kyljessä asuintornitaloja.

On the left was the "Pikkulaiva", on the right is the new shopping center "Lippulaiva" and on the side residential tower blocks.

 

Tapahtuma / Event

Kahden päivän tapahtuma toi torille hevoset. Onhan näitä kiva katsella.

The two-day event brought horses to the market. These are nice to look at.

Ei täällä normaalisti ole kahvi- tai ruokakojuja. Pelkkää tyhjyyttä vain.

Normally there are no coffee or food stalls here. Just nothingness.
