Mitä löysin metsässä / What I found in the forest

 

Eilisellä retkellä löysin tietenkin sieniä. En syö sieniä, mutta kärpässienen toki tunnen, sitä ei saa syödä. Mutta sienet oli jo vanhoja enkä edes tiedä, joskos noi muut oli edes syötäviä. 

Ihmiset kerää aivan toisenlaisia syötäviä sieniä.

Of course, I found mushrooms on yesterday's hike. I don't eat mushrooms, but I know the fly agaric, you can't eat it. But these mushrooms were already old and I don't know if those others were even edible. People collect completely different kinds of edible mushrooms.

Täällä ei ollut polkuja, eikä risukossa ollut kiva kävellä.

There were no paths here, and it wasn't nice to walk in the brushwood.

Löysimme puolukoita. Harmi vaan ettei ollut astiaa mukana, mihin olisimme niitä keränneet. 

Mutta ne maistuivat hyviltä syödä suoraan suuhun.

We found lingonberries. We regretted that we didn't have a container to collect them in.

But they tasted good to eat straight into your mouth.

The forests of Finland are wonderful, you can pick berries such as blueberries, lingonberries, cloudberries, raspberry and various mushrooms etc. 

You can pick anywhere (every man's right) but not from someone else's yard.

Alkoi satamaan, emmekä halunneet kävellä, joten katsoimme bussireittiä ja aikatauluja, 

jolla pääsisi lähimmälle metroasemalle (Tapiola).

It started to rain and we didn't want to walk again, 

so we looked at the bus route and schedule to get to the nearest metro station (Tapiola).

Eräs retki Espoossa / An excursion in Espoo

 

Viikonloppuna oli syyskuvausretki. Menimme julkisilla Laaksolahteen, jonne olisi autolla 12 km...

Kokoontuminen oli Soukan Metroasemalla (jonne minä olin tullut Kivenlahdesta).

There was an autumn photoshoot excursion over the weekend. We took public transport to Laaksolahti, 

which would be 12 km away by car... The meeting was at Soukka Metro Station.

Soukan torilla on  hieno suihkulähde.

There is a nice fountain in Soukka Market Square.

Matka jatkui Metrolla Aalto yliopistolle. / The journey continued by Metro to Aalto University.

Täältä matka jatkui Pikaraitiovaunulla. Tämä on linja, 

mikä kulkee nopealla vauhdilla Itä-Länsisuunnassa. Oli minun eka kerta kyseisessä ratikassa.

From here the journey continued on the Light Rail. This is a line that runs at high speed in an East-West direction. This was my first time in that Rail.

Perillä kävelimme pitkästi kohteeseen eli Laajalahden Turvesuon luonnonsuojelualueelle.

Once there, we walked a long way to our destination, the Laajalahti Turvesuo nature reserve.

Perillä. / We made it.

Ei tämä luonnonsuojelualue ihan vastanut odotusta. Ensi postauksessa laitan mitä tuolta löysin.

This nature reserve didn't quite live up to expectations. In the next post I'll post what I found there.

Bergön luontopolku

Lähellä on Bergön luontopolku Suvisaaristossa.

Lähdettiin tutkimaan sitä, ja aloitimme polkuilun lintutornilta, joka on 16 m korkea.

Nearby there is the Bergö nature trail in the Suvisaaristo.

We went to explore it, and we started hiking from the bird watching tower, which is 16 m high.

Torni on todella tukeva, mutta se onkin uusi, valmistunut 2022.

The tower is really sturdy, but it is new, completed in 2022.

Näköalat merelle ja kaupunkiin olivat upeat.

The views to the sea and the city were fantastic.

Tottakai Matti aikoi kiivetä uudestaan ylös, mutta tällä kertaa ulkokautta.  

Of course, Matti was going to climb up again, but this time outside.

N. 3 km pituinen luontopolku oli miellyttävä kulkea, ei suuria nousuvaihteluita, 

ja kuljimme aika paljon kalliolla.

The nature trail is approx. 3 km long, which was pleasant to walk, no big changes in elevation, 

and we walked quite a lot on the rocks.

Träskändan puistossa / In the Manor park of Träskända

Kävin katsomassa vasta restauroitua Träskändan kartanon julkivua. Ja hienohan siitä oli tullut, sillä sen oli annettu rapistua vuosikaudet. Mutta sisätilojen remontointi vie aikaa, ei vissiin ole edes aloitettukaan vielä. Ja kun tämä on lähellä (tosin automatkan päässä) niin tulee käytyä useammankin kerran. (Träskändan kartano perustettiin 1700-luvun lopussa, Wikipedia ja Hagerlund)

I went to see the newly restored facade of the Manor of Träskända in Espoo. And it had turned out great, because it had been allowed to decay for years. But the renovation of the interior takes time, and it hasn't even started yet, I think. And when this place is nearby (albeit a car ride away), I will visit it several times. (Träskända manor was founded in the end 18th century.)

Kaikki puut ovat isoja ja vanhoja. Ja niiden paksut oksat kasvaa usein vaakatasossa, hauskan näköistä.

All the trees are big and old.  And thick branches of trees often grow horizontally, looks funny.

Väriä rakennuksissa / Color buildnings

Vaihteeksi näkee näin ihanan värikkäitä kerrostaloja. Nämä uudet talot sijaitsee Kirstinmäessä Espoossa, ja pitihän ohiajaessani käydä ottamassa muutama kuva. Harmi, ettei useammin käytetä värejä, 

ja vielä kun on harjakatto ja inhimillinen korkeus, niin hakkaa mennen tullen ne kamalat tornitalot.

Sometimes you can see such wonderfully colorful multi-storey buildings like these. These new buildings are located in Espoo, and I had to take a few photos as I drove past. The houses are also made pleasant by the gable roof and the appropriate number of floors. So I like these more than towers

 

Maalaismaisemia / Landscapes

 

Espoo, Suomen toiseksi suurin kaupunki. Tuli metro ja joka aemalle rakenetaan tiiviisti korkeita taloja, ja toisaalta löytyy ihan läheltä (n. 10 km) näin upeita maalaismaisemia. Toisinaan tulee mieleem, että pitää lähteä tuhlamaan kallista bensiiniä ja ajella ihan huvikseen.

Espoo, Finland's second largest city. We got the metro and high-rise buildings are built close to each station, and on the other hand, you can find such wonderful country landscapes very close by (ab. 10 km from my home). Sometimes it occurs to me that I have to go and waste expensive gasoline and drive just for fun.
