Aika kuluu kuin siivillä. Kesä on jo puolessa välissä 

ja äsken koettiin viikon verran myös iso helle, 27-29 °C. Mutta enimmäkseen 22-25 °C. 

Se on sopiva lämpö. Helteellä paras paikka on joko metsä tai ranta.

Time flies. Summer is already halfway through

and we just experienced a week of great heat, 27-29 °C. But mostly 22-25 °C.

That's the right temperature. The best place to be in the heat is either the forest or the beach.

On ollut hieman paussia / There has been a bit of a break

 

On ollut hieman paussia edellisestä postauksesta. Saatiin remontti valmiiksi ja hieman lisää pakattuja laatikoita, kun pyörryin ja jouduin sairaalaan liki kahdeksi viikoksi. Olin jostain saanut RS-viruksen, joka sitten aiheutti vakavan keuhkokuumeen. Olin huolissani muuttoaikataulusta, mutta poikani lohdutti, että on vielä aikaa muuttamiseen. Ja hän roudas osan huonekaluja, kuten sängyn, joten pääsin pois sairaalasta uuteen kotiin laatikoiden keskelle. Olin tosi väsynyt, enkä oikein jaksanut pakata ja purkaa mitään pitkään aikaan. Mutta onneksi oli ystävät. Vieläkin on silloin tällöin hieman nuukahtanut olo.

It’s been a bit of a break since my last post. We finished the renovation and packed a few more boxes when I fainted and had to be hospitalized for almost two weeks. I had caught the RS virus from somewhere, which then caused severe pneumonia. I was worried about the moving schedule, but my son comforted me that there was still time to move. And he took some furniture to the new home, like the bed, so I got out of the hospital into the new home amidst boxes. I was really tired, and I didn’t really have the energy to pack and unpack for a long time. But luckily I had friends. I’m still feeling some days a bit tired and weak.

Nyt koti on kutakuinkin kunnossa, laatikot tyhjennetty, mutta vielä saan etsiä tavaroita, että missä ne on. Ja aivan liikaa krääsää on vieläkin, eli ajan kanssa käyn kaikki läpi. Pikkuhiljaa alkaa tuntumaan kodilta, vaikka pienihän tämä asunto on entiseen verrattuna.

Now the home is more or less in order, the boxes have been emptied, but I still have to look for things, where they are. And there is still too much stuffs, so I will go through everything with time. Little by little it is starting to feel like home, even though this apartment is small compared to the old one.

Nyt kävelen uusia rantapolkuja. Tuttuja nämä on kuitenkin, mutta harvemmin kuljettu. 

Tosin eihän minun koti ole kuin n 20 min. kävelymatkan päässä entisestä (ja autolla 3 min.). 

Now I am walking new beach paths. These are familiar, but rarely walked. 

My home is only about a 20 minute walk from my old one (and 3 minutes by car).

Maalauspuuhaa / Painting

Hyvin tumma seinä olohuoneessa maalattiin vaaleanharmaaksi. 

A very dark wall in the living room was painted light gray.

Nyt uuden kodin seiniä on maalattu ja sinne on kuljetettu tavaroita. Eli minun aika on mennyt kokonaan tähän. Uskon, että siitä tulee kiva koti, jahka saan kaikki tavarat sinne ja ne myös järjestykseen. Joitain huonekaluja oli pakko myydä, sillä eihän kaksioon niin paljon mahdu (nyt asun vielä kolmiossa). Virve ja Matti tuli Sveitsistä auttamaan maalauksessa, sillä siellä on pääsiäisloma. Matti (17 v) on hyvä remonttimies. Naapurit ja poikani on ollut kivoja ja auttaneet kantamisessa, kun Virve ja Matti lähtivät takaisin kotiin. Vielä on "miljoona" tavaraa pakkaamatta. Tämä on aika väsyttävää, muutin viimeksi 32 vuotta sitten, joten tämä ei ole aivan rutiininomainen juttu.

The walls of the new home are now painted and some things have been moved in. I think this will become a nice home, as long as I'll get all the things in there and organize them. I had to sell some furniture because there is not enough space in the one-bedroom apartment (I still live in a two-bedroom apartment now). Virve and Matti came from Switzerland to help with the painting, because it was Easter holiday there. Matti (17 years old) is a really good renovator. The neighbors and my son have been nice and helped with the moving when Virve and Matti flew back to their home. At least "a million" things are still to be packed and the furniture will be moving the end of the month. This is tiring, I last moved 32 years ago, so this is not exactly a routine thing.

Kesärenkaat on vaihdettu ja samalla pesetin auton (se oli aika likainen).

The summer tires have been changed and I washed the car at the same time (it was pretty dirty).

Yli vuoden kestänyt asunnonmyyntini on nyt tullut päätöksen, vihdoin oli ostaja, joka ei tinkinyt hirveesti.

On pahin mahdollinen aika myydä asuntoa, hinnat ovat hirveän alhaalla. Mutta pakko mikä pakko. Virallinen myyntisopimus tehdään pankissa tämän kuun puolen välin jälkeen. Saan muuttoaikaa 15.5. asti.

Ja löysin jopa uuden vuokra-asunnon tästä läheltä, söpö kaksio. Pääsen sinne jo huhtikuussa tekemään jotain maalaushommaa ja vähän siivoomaan (vaikka se on ihan siistissä kunnossa), mutta virallinen muutto- ja vuokra-aika alkaa 1.5.

The sale of my apartment that has lasted over a year has now come to an end, finally there was a buyer who didn't bargain terribly. It's the worst possible time to sell an apartment, prices are terribly low. But I had to. The official sales contract will be drawn up at the bank after the middle of this month. I can live here until May 15th to move in the new place.

And I even found a new rental apartment close to here, a cute two-room apartment. I'll be able to get there in already April to do some painting and a little cleaning (although it's in very good condition), but the official move-in and rental start May 1st.

Meidän vesialtaalle on tuuli tuonut vastarannalta hirveän paljon olkia. En ole ennen nähnyt.

The wind has brought a lot of straw from the opposite bank to our strand. I've never seen anything like it before.

The terrace season has opened. Although the days have been quite cold despite the sun.

Pikkuhiljaa tarkenee istua ulkosalla.

Sitting outside is gradually becoming more comfortable.

Mutta sitten vasta tuntuu keväältä, kun kaikki talven hiekoitushiekat on lakaistu pois.

But then it only feels like spring when all the winter sand (thrown in to make streets non slippery) has been swept away.

 

Jää sulaa / The ice is melting

Muutamassa päivässä tuli lähes kevät. Lämpötila n 3-5 °C ja jää sulaa silmissä. 

Sai jopa vaihtaa kevyemmät vaatteet, on mukavampi kävellä. 

In a few days, spring was almost here. The temperature is around 3–5 °C and the ice is melting in your eyes. I even got to change into lighter clothes, it's more comfortable to walk.

Niemen toisella puolella on enempi jäätä, ja yksi uskalias on liitämässä luistimilla jäällä.

There is more ice on the other side of the peninsula, and one daredevil is skating on the ice.
