Viimeisen päivän kahvittelu / The last day cafe

 

Vielä yhden kerran ehdin istua vesitornin kahvilassa. On niin kuuma, ettei mitään jaksa tehdä (29 °C).

Illalla kävin kotona Espoossa ja vein tavaraa pois (5 Ikea-kassia).. Siellä on paljon tehtävää, ennen kuin voi asua. Onneksi saan asua vielä Riihimäellä, josta ajelen edestakaisin kotiin ja takaisin.

One more time I had time to sit in the water tower cafe. It's so hot that I can't do anything (29 °C).

In the evening I visited home in Espoo and carried off stuff (5 Ikea bags). There is a lot to do before you can live there. Fortunately, I can still live in Riihimäki, from where I drive back and forth home and back.

Tätä todella opin täällä.

This is what I really learned here.

Kotia katsomassa / Looking at my home

Kävin vaihdattamassa kesärenkaat autoon (renkaat oli Espoossa), vaikka on luvattu mahdollisesti vielä eteläänkin lunta (ja yöpakkasia). No en ajele jos on lunta tai liukasta. Samalla tapasin ystäviäni.

Kävin myös kotonani, jossa on parhaillaan putkiremontti käynnissä ja sain otettua muutaman kuvan. 

Ja samalla hain myös postin. Posti jaetaan aulassa olevaan asuntokohtaiseen lukittuun laatikkoon.

Olen ollut nyt neljä viikkoa evakossa Riihimäellä, ja vielä on 7 viikkoa jäljellä. Viihdyn tosi hyvin täällä Riihimäen pikkukaupungissa, eikä tullut ikävän tuntua kotinurkille. Itse kodissa on aika sekaista. Mutta kaipa saavat sen kuntoon.

Today I changed the summer tires on my car (the tires were 80 km away in Espoo), although snow has been promised possibly even south (and night frosts). Well, I don’t drive if it’s snowing or slippery. 

At the same time, I met my friends, as well as visiting my home, where a plumbing renovation is currently underway, and I was able to take a few pictures. And at the same time I also picked up my mail. Mail is delivered to the apartment-specific locked box in the lobby.

I’ve been on the evacuation in Riihimäki for four weeks now, and there are still 7 weeks left. I’m having a really good time here in this small town Riihimäki, and I didn’t feel like I was missing home. The home itself is pretty messy. But I’m sure they fix it.

Meillä on ollut ennen kaksi vesipistettä, keittiö ja WC. Mutta nyt vedet johdetaan yhteen ja saadaan yksi vesimittari. Aika hurjan näköisiä putkia olohuoneessa. Mutta ne peitetään jollakin kotelolla.

We used to have two water points, a kitchen and a toilet. But now the waters will connect together and we get one water meter. Pretty wild looking pipes in the living room. But they will cover them with some kind of casing.

En teetä keittiöön remonttia, joten vanhat kaapit laitetaan takaisin. Mutta uudet kaakelit sentäs asennetaan.

I am not renovating the kitchen, so the old cabinets will be put back. But the new tiles will be installed anyway.

Seuraavan kerran käyn ehkä parin viikon kuluttua, kun postikin pitää hakea.

The next time I will go maybe in a couple of weeks, when I've to pick up my mail.

Huomenna lauantaina muutan Riihimäelle. 

Suuri urakka on lähestulkoon tehty (huokaus). Olohuoneen kamat on jo muovitettu. 

Tomorrow, Saturday, I'm moving to Riihimäki. 

The big job is almost done (sigh). The furniture in the living room has already been covered with plastic.

Tämän yön nukun vielä omassa kodissa, ja aamulla muovitan kaiken.

I'm still sleeping in my own home tonight, and in the morning I'll plastic everything.

Onneksi olen suht ketterä ja pääsen kömpimään sänkyyn pienestä aukosta.

Fortunately, I'm quite agile and I have gotten into the bed through a small opening.

Tällaisia käytäviä piti jättää, jotta sähkömiehet pääsee pistorasioita tutkimaan.

Corridors like this had to be left so that electricians could examine the sockets.

 

Sänky on vinossa, jotta sähkömiehet näkee pistorasian. Huone on pieni eikä muuta mahdollisuutta ollut.

The bed in the small study is at an angle so that the electricians can see the socket. 

There was no other option.

Muovin ja teipin yhdistelmiä. Aina silloin tällöin teippi tarttui inhottavasti muoviin.

Combinations of plastic and tape. Every now and then, the tape stuck to the plastic.

Rapussa on jo remppavalmistelut tehty. Nyt pääsee pakoon mahtavaa porausmeteliä.

Preparations have already been made in crab. Now I can get away from the awesome drilling noise.

Enää vajaa kaksi viikkoa, ja sitten kaikki, huonekalut ja laatikot ym. pitää olla muovilla suojattu ja minä putkiremontin alta poissa. Pääosin on kaikki tavara pakattu piiloon ja huonekalut kasattu. Nyt odottaa se ikävin vaihe eli muoviin kääriminen.

Less than two weeks, and then everything, the furniture and boxes, etc. must be protected with plastic and I must be out of the way of the plumbing repair. Mostly all the stuff is packed away and the furniture is piled up. Now the most unpleasant step awaits, i.e. wrapping everything in plastic.

Olen vasta muutaman kaapin suojannut. Se ei ole mitään hauskaa hommaa, muovi on ohutta, ja teippi tarttuu joka paikkaan. Mutta mitä enemmän suojaan, sitä vähemmän menee betonipölyä tavaroihin.

I have only protected a few cabinets. It's no fun, the plastic is thin, and the tape sticks everywhere. But the more I protect, the less concrete dust gets into the stuff.

Seinän vierellä pitää olla liikkumistilaa, samoin kaikki pistorasiat pitää olla näkyvillä.

There must be room for movement next to the wall, and all sockets must be visible.

Kävimme Virven kanssa Riihimäellä (80 km päässä) siivoamassa tulevaa tilapäistä asuntoa.

Virve, my daughter, and I went to Riihimäki (80 km away home) to clean my future temporary apartment.

Virve halusi väen vängällä pestä ikkunat. Onneksi ne oli pieniä.

Virve definitely wanted to wash the windows. Luckily they were small.

Enää 20 päivää, kun asunto pitää olla "luovutuskunnossa", eli huonekalut osittain kerätty keskelle lattiaa 

ja suojattu muovilla. Ja minä evakkona putkirempan alta pois. Olen mielestäni aika hyvin aikataulussa. Eritoten kun tyttäreni Virve tuli Sveitsistä lomallaan minua auttamaan ja kannustamaan.

20 more days when the apartment must be in "deliverable condition", that is, the furniture is partially collected in the middle of the floor and protected with plastic. And I moved out from under the pipe repair.

I think I'm quite well on schedule. Especially when my daughter Virve came from Switzerland during her holiday to help and encourage me.

There are still a few collected packages and boxes all over the place, that is, there is chaos.

Mies ikkunan takana / A man behind the window

 

Asun neljännessä kerroksessa. 

Hieman hätkähdin, kun näin miehen kävelevän kuin ilmassa ikkunan takana.

I live on the fourth floor. 

I was startled a bit when I saw a man walking as if on air behind the window.

Talomme sai telineet seinälle. Nämä ovat katon korjausta varten.

Our house got racks on the wall. These are for roof repair.

Kohti evakkoa / Towards the evacuation

Evakkomatka lähestyy linjasaneerauksen takia. Olen toiseksi viimeinenlinja, joka lähtee. Nyt ne ovat vielä eri rapuissa, mutta porausääni on jo erittäin kova. Ihmettelen kuinka kova ääni onkaan, kun he ovat naapurissa seinän takana.... 

Nyt tyhjentelen kotia, ts, siirtelen tavaroita paikasta toiseen, heh. Samalla tänne laitetaan uusia sähköjohtoja, niin kulkureitit on oltava, joten myöhemmin tulee huonekalujen siirto keskelle lattiaa. Ja samalla sitten suojaan kaikki huonekalut ja tavarat muovilla, koska tulee kova betonipöly. 

Äsken tyhjentelin kaappia, jossa säilytin kirjoja, joita en ole raaskinut heittää pois, kuin myös muutamaa muuta kirjojen säilytystilaa. Sain nyt vähennettyä puolet pois. Hyvä minä. Samalla tässä tulee tehtyä jonkinmoista inventaariota - on tullut hamstrattua hirveän paljon kaikenlaista turhaa. Oma lukunsa on työhuoneeni, jossa tietty on kaikenlaista työkamaa ynnä mappeja,.. ja taas mappeja. Teen kaiken niin hitaasti, niin on paras aloittaa ajoissa.

Maaliskuussa muutan Riihimäelle, 80 km päähän. Sieltä ei ihan joka päivä tule ajaneeksi katsomaan remontin kehitystä.

The evacuation trip is approaching due to pipe line renovation. I'm the second last line who is leaving. Now they are still in different crabs, but the drilling noise is already very loud. I wonder how loud it's the noise when they are in neighbor behind the wall...

Now I'm emptying my home, that is, I'm moving things from one place to another, heh. At the same time, new electrical cables will be installed here, so later the furniture will be moved to the middle of the floor. And at the same time I protect all the furniture with plastic, because here will be heavy concrete dust. 

I recently cleaned out the closet where I kept the books I haven't bothered to throw away, as well as a few other book storage spaces. I got half off now. Good me. At the same time, I'm doing some sort of inventory - over time I have acquired an awful lot of all kinds of useless things. I do everything so slowly, so it's best to start early.

In March, I will move to Riihimäki, 80 km away. I think I don't drive there every day to see the progress of the renovation.

Putkiremppa 2 / The pipe renovation

 

Putkiremontti jatkuu. Jalkakäytävä talomme edustalla on ollut jo jonkin aikaa kuvan näköinen.

The pipe renovation continues. 

The sidewalk in front of our house has looked like the picture for a while.

Nyt putki uusitaan kaupungin verkostoon asti, mikä sijaitsee keskellä tietä.

Noe the pipe will be renewed up to the city's pipe network, which is located in the middle of the street.

Pihalle kulku kielletty (ja se olisikin mahdotonta).

Access to the yard is prohibited (and it would be impossible).

Ehkä oli jo korkea aika tehdä tämä kallis remontti, sillä putki näyttää olevan jo melko kulunut, 

onhan talo rakennettu jo vuonna 1975. (Kuva R. Lyden). Paitsi ettei tuo kaupungin putkikaan mikään loistoputki ole.

Perhaps it was high time to do this expensive renovation, as the pipe seem to be quite worn out already, 

after all, the house was already built in 1975. Except that the city pipe doesn't look good either.
