Uusi rantaraitti / New beach road

 

Saatiin vihdoinkin rantaosuus käyttöön. Reilu vuosi sitä rakennettiin, ts. tekivät suuren esteen tulvavedelle, joka sateisena kautena nousi reunalla olevien rivitalojen kellareihin ym. Vähän lisää vihreyttä, niin kiva tulee.

For more than a year, this part of the beach was built, i.e. they made a big barrier to the flood water, 

which during the rainy season rose into the basements of the row houses on the edge, etc. 

Now it is ready. A little more greenery, and it will be super nice.

Joutsenperhe / The swan family

Joka vuotinen joutsen pariskunta poikasineen. Poikasia on nyt enää kolme kappaletta.

Every year a pair of swans with chicks. Now there are only three chicks left.

Pienet heräävät "päiväunilta". / The little ones wake up from their "day nap".

Hieman sukimista... / A little bit of squirming.

Äiti näyttää mallia, täydellinen umpisolmuasento.

Keräännytään yhteen veteenmenoa varten. Eräällä poikasella ei ole mitään kiirettä..

Hyökyvuoren pysäköintihalli #2 / Parking garage

 

Pysäköintitalon rakentaminen edistyy.

The construction of the parking garage is progressing.

Valmista pitäisi olla tämän vuoden lopussa.

It should be ready at the end of this year.

Tämä parkkihalli on kuulemma tarkoitettu uusille tulevien tornitalojen asukkaille

 (niitä ei ole vielä edes aloitettu rakentaa). Kukaan ei ymmärrä, mikä kiire tällä sitten oli.

This parking garage is reportedly intended for the new residents of the future tower blocks

 (they haven't even started to be built yet). Nobody understand what the rush was.

Ei edes ilta-aurinko tee tätä kauniimmaksi.

Even the evening sun doesn't make this any more beautiful.

The Tall Ships Races 2024

50 erikokoista purjealusta ympäri maailman oli saapunut Helsinkiin. Oli neljä päivää kestävä purjehdustapahtuma "Tall Ships Races". Sunnuntaina ne lähtivät kohti Tallinnaa.

50 sailing ships of different sizes from around the world had arrived in Helsinki. There was a four-day long sailing event "Tall Ships Races". On Sunday, they left for Tallinn.

Olin illalla myöhään paikalla, ja sain vain yhden kuvan iltaaurinkoisesta aluksesta 

ennenkuin aurinko meni piiloon.

I was there late in the evening, and I only got one picture of the ship in the evening sun 

before the sun went down.

Laivaan tutustumiseen oli pitkä jono.

There was a long line to get to know the ship.

Muita isoja laivoja oli hieman kauempana eri satamassa, mutta niitä en nyt käynyt katsomassa,

 kun jäin kuuntelemaan musiikkia.

There were other big ships a little further away in a different port, but I didn't go to see them now, 

because I stayed to listen to music.

Ecuadorilaisen Guayas-aluksen miehistö soitti illalla pari tuntia lattari ym musaa. 

Se oli upeaa kuultavaa, ja moni myös tanssi rytmin mukana.

The crew of the Ecuadorian ship Guayas played Latin music for a couple of hours in the evening.

It was lovely to hear, and many danced to the beat too.

Nyt olemme mantereen tuntumassa.

Now we are near the mainland.

Suomenojan voimalaitos. Laitos oli viimeinen kaukolämmöntuotantoon käytetty hiiliyksikkö Suomessa. Tämä on lopetettiin huhtikuussa. Sen tilalle on suunnitelmissa rakentaa uusi asuinalue, joka on osittain meren päällä.

Suomenoja power plant. The plant was the last coal unit used for district heating in Finland. This was closed in April. there are plans to build a new residential area in its place, which is partly over the sea.

Matkalla alitamme Suinonsalmen sillan, joka on niin matala, ettei veneessä oikein voi seistä. 

Ja vauhtikin on tosi hiljainen, kun saavutaan kapeikkoa pitkin sillalle.

On the way, we pass under the Suinonsalmi bridge, which is so low that you can't really stand on the boat.

And the pace is really quiet when you reach the bridge along the narrow waterway.

Silta jäi taakse. / The bridge was left behind.

Saaristoveneristeily. / An archipelago boat tour.1/2

 

Olimme saaristoveneristeilyllä. Koko kierros kesti vaja 4 tuntia. Matkalla on 10 pysähdystä, jossa voit joko poistua tai tulla veneeseen. Veneet tekevät sekä aamupäivä- ja iltapäiväkierrokset.

We were on an archipelago boat tour. The whole tour takes just under 4 hours. There are 10 stops on the way where you can either get off or get on the boat. The boats make both morning and afternoon tours.

Välillä oli tosi lämmintä, mutta välillä tulimme aukealle paikalle, jossa oli tuulista, 

jolloin piti pukea takki päälle.

Sometimes it was really warm, but sometimes we came to an open place where it was windy,

when you had to put on a jacket.

On 4 saarta, joissa voit telttailla monta päivää.

Mutta voit myös viettää siellä päivää ja/tai lenkkeillä ja palata seuraavalla vuorolla takaisin. 

There are 4 islands where you can camp for many days. 

But you can also spend a day there and/or walk around and come back on the next turn. 

Meidän vene on pieni, mutta on muitakin reittejä, joissa on isompi vene. Mutta ne ei lähde Kivenlahdesta.

Our boat is small, but there are other routes with a bigger boat. But they don't leave Kivenlahti.

Meri ja saaret on parasta Espoossa. Espoon edustalla on 165 saarta ja rantaviivaa 58 km.

The sea and the islands are the best in Espoo. Off Espoo are 165 islands and 58 km of coastline.
