Keltaista ja valkoista / Yellow and white

Ihan kunnossa en taida vielä olla, koskapa otan tosi vähän valokuvia.

Mutta muutaman kukkakuvan sentäs rantatieltä nappasin kännyllä.

Kevät on tullut, mutta edelleen sää on kylmää.

I don't think I'm quite well yet, because I take very few photos.

But I did catch a few flower pictures from the beach road with my cell phone.

Spring has come, but the weather is still cold.

 

Jälleen Helsingissä / Again in Helsinki

 

Olin taas Tilkan silmäsairaalassa. Tällä kertaa matkustin "sinisessä bussissa".

I was again in the eye hospital in Helsinki (Tilkka). This time I was traveling on the "blue bus".

Tykkään näistä värikkäistä taloista. Tilkan sairaala on tuolla edessä.

I like these colorful houses. Tilka's hospital is over there backside.

Päätinkin sitten ajaa raitsikalla takaisin keskustaan. Joka juuri meni nenän edestä. 

No, seuraava tuli 7 minuutin kuluttua. Oli vain niin kovin kylmä odottaa.

I decided to take the tram back to the city center. Which just passed right in front of my nose.

Well, the next one came in 7 minutes. It was just so cold to wait.

Kamppi eli mm. Metroasema on nurkan takana.

Kamppi, including the metro station, is just around the corner.

Vanha linja-autoaseman kello on saanut väriä pintaan.

The old bus station clock has been given a new coat of color paint.

Kampin aukealla oli muutama koju, mm Sveitsin juustoa (en ostanut) ...

There were a few stalls in Kamppi Square, for example Swiss cheese (I didn't buy) ...

... ja Italiasta makeisia (ne oli tosi makeita ja kalliita, ostin kaksi palaa ja maksoin 12 e).

... and sweets from Italy (they were really sweet and expensive, I bought two pieces and paid 12 e).

Sää oli todella kylmää, niin ettei kukaan istunut terasseilla.

The weather was really cold, so no one was sitting on the terraces.

Kirsikan kukat / Cherry blossoms

 

Kirsikkapuut kukkii... ja kohta ne on muisto vain. Ehdin nippa nappa saada näitä kukkia kuvatuksi.

The cherry trees are blooming... and soon they will be just a memory. 

I managed to get these flowers photographed at the last moment.

Tunnen olevani nyt (lähes) terve. Sain vielä lisäksi jälkitaudin, mutta se on mennyt levolla ohi. On ihana tunne, kun herätessä ja pitkin päivää on fiilis, että nyt saattaisi innostua jostakin ja jopa jaksaa tehdä sitä.

I feel (almost) healthy now. In addition, I got an after-disease, but it has passed with rest. 

It's a wonderful feeling when you wake up and throughout the day you feel like you might get excited about something and even have the energy to do it.

Tätä flunssaa ja keuhkokuumetta on ollut aika paljon liikkeellä. 

Eli en ollut ainoa, vaikka se ei helpota lainkaan oloa.

There's been quite a bit of this flu and pneumonia going around.

So I wasn't the only one, although that doesn't make it any easier.

On ainainen ihme, että mistä voikukka saa voimia kasvaa ihan mistä vain. 

Yritän olla nyt kuin tämä kukka.

It's always a wonder how a dandelion gets the strength to grow from just about anything.

I'm trying to be like this flower right now.

Toipilaskuvia / Convalescent photos

Olen ollut tosi kipeä. Sain flunssan yli pari viikkoa sitten, joka muuttui keuhkokuumeeksi. Nukuin ja yskin keuhkot pihalle. Nyt alkaa tuntua terveeltä, mutta kunto on tosi rapainen. 

Olen tehnyt muutaman pienen kävelylenkin lähiseudulla, ja huomasin, että kevät on tullut. Joka puolella on pieniä kukkia ja pensaissa ja puissa näkyy kevään vihreyttä. Tosin sää on vielä tosi, tosi kylmää. 

I've been really sick. I got pneumonia a couple of weeks ago. I slept and coughed my lungs out. 

I'm starting to feel better now, but I'm really in a bad shape.

 I've taken a few short walks around the area, and I noticed that spring has arrived. There are small flowers everywhere and spring greenery on the bushes and trees. Although the weather is still really, really cold.

Träskändan puisto / Träskända park

 

Kävin taas Träskändan puistossa. Träskändan kartano perustettiin 1700-luvulla. Kartano on nyt upea julkisivultaan, mutta sisätiloja ei ole remontoitu, ts. ei ole vielä tietoa, mitä tälle kartanolle tehdään. 

I visited Träskända Park again. Träskända Manor was founded in the 18th century. The mansion is now magnificent in its facade, but the interior has not been renovated, i.e. there is no information yet on what will be done to this mansion.

On todella kylmä päivä auringosta huolimatta. Sormet palelee, kun ottaa kuvia.

It's a really cold day despite the sun. My fingers are freezing when I take pictures.

Venäjän keisari ja Suomen suuriruhtinas Aleksanteri II vieraili kartanossa 16.9.1861,

ja häntä varten rakennettiin kuusikulmainen käymälärakennus.

The Russian Emperor and Grand Duke of Finland Alexander II visited the mansion on 16 September 1861, and a hexagonal toilet building was built for him.

Onko oksalla jalat ...?  / Does the branch have legs...?

Puiston vanhin ja isoin tammi. / The oldest and largest oak tree in the park.

Kevät ei ole kaikkein kauneinta aikaa täällä. Tulen uudelleen kesällä.

Spring isn't the prettiest time here. I'll come again in summer.

Pirttimäen ulkoilualue / On the nature path

 

Pitkästä aikaa luontopolulla. On tosi kylmä päivä, ja yöllä on ollut pakkasta. 

Polun varrella näkyi jäätynyttä lunta. Ja lammikot on jäähileessä.

A long time on the nature path. It's a really cold day, and it's been freezing at night.

There was some frozen snow along the path. And the ponds are covered in ice.

Ei ollut kovin paljon kävelijöitä, niin pyöräilijätkin mahtui hyvin joukkoon.

There weren't very many walkers, so cyclists could fit in easily.

Täällä joimme kahvit ja söimme tosi hyvät isot korvapuustit.

We drank coffee here and ate really good big buns.

Veteenmeno / Going into the water

 

Melkein kuin kesä, paitsi että tänään oli tosi kylmää. Joinakin vuonna tähän aikaan on ollut vielä lunta.

Almost like summer, except today it was really cold. Some years at this time there has been still snow.

Kaksi reipasta ystävätärtäni meni uimaan - kuten lähes joka päivä. Vesi oli n. 3 °C, eli tosi kylmää.

My two dashing friends went swimming - like they do almost every day. 

The water was about 3 °C, which is really cold.

No, itseasiassa he vain kastautuivat. Mutta sekin olisi minulle liikaa.

Well, actually, they were just wetting themselves. But even that would be too much for me.

Vaikka juuri nyt ei aurinko paista, niin kuitenkin kevään merkki on uimarannalle tuotu uusi hiekka.

Although the sun is not shining right now, the sign of spring is the new sand brought to the beach.
