Sveitsi (2) – Vuorelle nousu / Mountain Rise – Switzerland

Eräänä päivä lähdimme patikoimaan eräälle vuorelle. Kuvassa katson jo parkkipaikalta alkavaa ylämäkeä, eikä se loppunut ennenkuin olimme huipulla yli 1300 metrin korkeudessa. Yhtäsoittoista ylämäkeä.

One day we went hiking on a mountain. In the picture I look at the uphill starting from the parking place  and the rise didn't end before we were at the height of over 1300 meters. Continuous uphill.

Näillä tienoin polku haarottui. Eli samaan kohteeseen huipulle oli kaksi eri reittiä. Sveitsissä ei matkaa ilmoiteta pituuden mukaan vaan ajan. Eli nyt toinen reitti kesti (vielä) 40 min. kävellä ja toinen tunnin.

Päättelimme, että hitaampi reitti olisi loivempi, joten me tytöt valitsimme sen.

About here the path became branched out. So there were two different routes to the same destination. In Switzerland, the trip is reported according to time, not length. So now the second route took (still) 40 minutes for walking and the another route one hour. We decided that the slower route would be more gently sloping, so we girls chose it.

 Nyt näyttää vielä loivalta nousulta, mutta ihan oikeesti ei se matkan loppupää kovin loivaa ollut.
Now it seems that the ascent is a gentle rise, but I swear it wasn't a very gentle at the end.

Kohde näkyvillä – tuonne jaksan vielä raahautua.

 Nautittiin ruoasta ja ihailtiin maisemia.
The food was enjoyed and we admired the scenery.

Alaspäin mentiinkin sitten poikien kiemuraista, nopeampaa reittiä, sillä ilta oli tulossa

 emmekä halunneet olla pimeässä metsässä. Polku oli paikoin jäinen ja vaikeakulkuinen. 

Kiitin hiljaa mielessäni, ettemme Virven kanssa valinneet tätä polkua nousuun.

The shorter, but steeper path of the boys was chosen to go down , because the evening was coming 

and we didn't want to be in the dark forest. The path was icy and difficult in some places.

 I was thankful quietly in my mind that we girls didn't choose this path to climb up.

Nämä ovat polkuja, joita pitkin et todellakaan halua kävellä pimeässä.

These are the paths where you really don't want to walk in the dark.

Selvittiin metsästä ulos nippanappa ennen todellista pimeyttä.
We survived out of the woods just before the actual darkness.

Sveitsi (1) – 1150 rappusta / 1150 steps – Switzerland

Vihdoinkin Sveitsin kuvia, kun olin vuodenvaihteessa tyttäteni luona. Ensiksi eniten mieleenjäänyt porraskävely. Nuoret kuvitteli, että minulla on rautainen kunto… ei ollut! Portaita oli 1150 ja nousun aikana tein monta pientä kuolemaa, maitohapot jaloissa ja henki kulki pihisten. Portaat oli eri korkuisia ja levyisiä, eikä ollut kaiteita apuna, eikä mitään huilaustasannetta. Mutta pääsin ylös. Aikaa siinä kului tunti, kun taas Mikko, 12 v, juoksi ylös vartissa.

At last Swiss photos, when I was there at the turn of the year in my daughter's home. First of all, a memorable experience - the stairs. My young kids imagined I had an iron condition… it wasn't! The steps were 1150, and during the ascent I made many small deaths, lactic acids in my feet, and my breathing was hard. The stairs were of different heights and widths, and there were no railings to keep help, and no any platform for rest. But I got up. It took an hour, while Mikko, 12 years old, ran up in the 15 minutes.

Upward endless stairs – I look back and I had almost dizzy (and I'm just on the middle).

 Virve kannusti koko ajan. "Äiti, olet jo puolessa välissä",, jne.

Virve encouraged me all the time. "Mom, you're already halfway ..."

 Punainen viiva on kulkemamme reitti (suora viiva on ne portaat).

The red line is the route we were hiking (the straight line is the stairs).

Ylhäällä oli upeat näkymät, sääli, että oli hieman sumuista.

There was a great view on the top, a pity that it was a bit foggy.

Alas tultiinkin sitten pitkää kiertävää polkua pitkin, jossa siinäkin oli portaita.

Then we came down by a long path where also were steps.

Olen ylpeä, että tein sen, eli nousin kaikki portaat. Mutta uudelleen en niitä kipuaisi.

I am proud that I did it. But I never do it again.

Lunta / Snow

Talvi meinasi mennä ohitse, ennenkuin sain tänne muutaman lumikuvan.

Kuvat on tammikuun ja alun helmikuun aikana otettu. Loppukuvat ovatkin sitten tätä päivää..

The snow might almost melt before I got a few snow shots here. We got really much snow. There is a big snow cover everywhere. Fortunately, the frost has only been max –10  C. (once it was –25 °C). Many weeks were really beautiful, everywhere was white.

Muutaman kerran paistoi jopa aurinko !

A couple of times the sun was shining.

Ja nyt – tälläiseltä näyttää nyt talvi vesisateineen. And now – This is the weather today.

It has been raining for a few days now, the temperature is about +2 °C, the snow is melting and the snow cover is black. The landscape is not any more beautiful. Walking is difficult in many places when it is slippery.

Uskomatonta, mun micra jäi mahastaan kiinni ja tarvittiin kaksi riuskaa miestä lapioimaan mahanalunen lumesta ja työntämään se irti jäisestä kuopastaan.

My car got stuck in the snow. Two men were needed to get it up from the icy pit.

There is still much white snow, especially inland.

Luminen Helsinki / Snowy Helsinki

Meillä on paljon lunta ja lisää tuli torstaivastaisena yönä. Ja tottakai minun oli käytävä Hesassa just torstaina pahimman myrräkän jälkeen. Tältä luminen stadi näytti, lumi kaupungissa ei ole kiva juttu. 

Mietin, miten noi autot saa itsensä pois. Pakkasta -5 °C.

We have a lot of snow and it was snowing a lot more a day before yesterday. And I had to go to Helsinki just on Thursday after the worst snowstorm, and the streets was filled with snow. The snow in city isn't very nice thing. Snow plows were at work, but it takes a moment before all the snow can be removed. The snowy city looked like this. It was -5 °C,

Sveitsin loma oli ja meni ja se sujui tosi ihanasti. Mutta sain sieltä tuliaisiksi flunssan, ja olen ollut hiukka vetämättömissä. Joten laittelen kuvia myöhemmin.

The Swiss holiday is over and it went really wonderful. But I got a flu a souvenir, and I've been a little lazy. So I'll put the photos of vacation later.
