Hyökyvuoren pysäköintihalli. /Parking garage

 

Vastapäisen pysäköintihallin rakentaminen on nyt edennyt pilarien pystytykseen.

Nämä pilarit pystytettiin parissa päivässä.

The construction of the opposite parking garage has now progressed to erecting the pillars.

These pillars were erected in a couple of days.

Vaikka on kiva seurata rakentamista näin läheltä, tekee tämä rakennus minut surulliseksi.

Although it's nice to watch the construction up close, this building makes me sad.

Nostokurjet ovat niin korkeita, ettei ne mahdu kokonaan kuvaan, kun kuvaan parvekkeelta.

The lifting cranes are so high that they don't fit completely into the picture

when I take a picture from the balcony.

I live on the fourth floor of that white house.

Päivänkakkaroita sun muuta / Daisies and other things

 

Aika on kulunut lähes siivillä. Huomaan, että kohta on kulunut kolme viikkoa kun olen asunut kodissani. Paljon olen purkanut, siivonut ja järjestellyt (pesin jopa ikkunatkin), mutta paljon on vielä tsekattava ennen kuin koti tuntuu kodilta. En taatusti halua enää uutta putkiremontia asun sitten missä tahansa.

Time has almost flown by. I notice that I have been living in my home for almost three weeks. I have dismantled, cleaned and organized a lot (I even washed the windows), but there is still a lot to check before the house feels like home. I definitely don't want another plumbing repair no matter where I live.

Minulta oli netti hävinnyt, kun vetivät uudet piuhat. Tuntui hassulta mennä nettiin kännyn kautta, joka ei aina edes löytynyt. Mutta onneksi nyt on.

I had lost my internet when the new tricks came out. It felt stupid to go online through a mobile phone, which was always not even found. But luckily now it is.

On ihanat ilmat, ei liian kuumaa vaan just sopivaa (n.20-25 °C). En jaksaisi tehdä mitään, jos olisi ne hirmuhelteet, joita on ympäri Eurooppaa ja maailmaa. Suomessa on hyvä asua, ainakin toistaiseksi.

It's wonderful weather, not too hot but just right (approx. 20-25 °C). I wouldn't be able to do anything if it were the terrible heat that is around Europe and the world. It's good to live in Finland, at least for now.

Lopen vanha kirkko / Old churche

 

Lopen vanha kirkko eli Santa Pirjon kirkko on ilmeisesti 1660-luvunlopulla rakennettu puukirkko. 

Kirkon käyttöä rajoittaa jossakin määrin sijainti jyrkän mäen päällä, sähköttömyys ja uruttomuus, mutta se on ensisijaisesti museokirkko.

Lope's old church, or Santa Pirjo's church, is apparently a wooden church built at the end of the 1660s.

The use of the church is somewhat limited by its location on a steep hill, 

lack of electricity and lack of an organ but it is primarily a museum church.

Kirkko on vaatimattoman näköinen pärekattoinen hirsikirkko. Kirkon ikää ei tiedetä varmasti, sillä asiakirjat, joissa ikä lienee kerrottu, tuhoutuivat tulipalossa. On arveltu, että se olisi voitu rakentaa jo 1400–1500-lukujen vaihteessa. Sen seinähirsien viimeiseksi kasvuajaksi on kuitenkin määritetty 1665 ja 1666.

The church is a modest-looking log church with a shingle roof. The age of the church is not known for sure, because the documents, where the age must have been stated, were destroyed in a fire. It has been speculated that it could have been built as early as the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries. However, 1665 and 1666 have been determined as the last growth period of its wall logs.

Kirkkoa oli vaikea kuvata, kun oli niin vähän tilaa. Mutta kirkon mäeltä oli kivat näköalat. 

It was difficult to photograph the church when there was so little space. 

But there were nice views from the hill.

Ihmeellinen kääpä löytyi erään kiven päältä.

A miraculous plant (I don't know it in English) was found on top of a rock.

Lentokenttä ja muuta / Airfield and more

Riihimäellä vielä täyspainoisesti ollessani käytiin katsomassa Räyskälän lentokenttää Lopella. Kenttä on Pohjoismaiden vilkkain purjelentokeskus. Nyt ei ollut yhtään lentokonetta ilmassa, sääli.

When I was still in Riihimäki, we went to see we went to see Räyskälä airport in Lope. The field is  is the largest sports aviation centre in the Nordic countries. There were no planes in the air now, too bad.

Then just sightseeing here and there.

Kyläkaupat, joissa on kahvila, ovat ihanat ja niissä on kiva pitää paussia.

The village shops with a cafe are wonderful and it's nice to take a break in them.

Olisipa ollut uimapuku mukana.

I wish I had a bathing suit with me.

Nyt ajelen edestakaisin Riihimäen ja Kivenlahden väliä, 

vielä muutaman päivän, kunnes saan vähän siivottua oman kodin.

Now I drive back and forth between Riihimäki and Kivenlahti, a few more days.
