Sveitsiin / to Switzerland

On pitänyt hiukka jännitystä ja kiirettä. Lennän huomenna Sveitsiin. Mikko pääsee ripille ja tyttäreni Virve niin houkutti minut sinne. Miten sitä aina hosuukin kaikkien mukaan otettavien tavaroiden, vaatteiden, papereiden ym nippelien kanssa. Ja Seutulan laajennus ja remontti valmistui vuodenvaihteessa, joten kaikki on sielläkin uutta ja jännittävää. Mutta jahka olen koneessa, niin sitten kaikki sujuu hyvin, ja on todella kiva nähdä tytär ja pojat.

I have had a bit of a busy time. I will be flying to Switzerland tomorrow. My grandson Mikko has confirmation and my daughter Virve wanted me there. It takes time to collect all the items I want to take with me. And the expansion and renovation of our airfield (Seutula) was completed at the turn of the year,

so everything is new and exciting there too. And of course there is still covid. But when I'm on the plane, then everything goes well, and it's really wonderful to see my daughter and boys for a long time.

Kahden ohjelman välillä pääsi turistitkin hetkeksi sisään.

Between the two programs, tourists also got in for a while.

Tuomiokirkko on rakennettu vv. 1830–1852, Carl Ludvig Engelin suunnittelemana.

Puu-Vallila

Viikolla tuli käytyä toisenkin kerran Helsingissä lyhyessä ajassa. Olin miniäni kanssa hänen tyttären Mimmin opiskelun valmistujaisissa. Myöhemmin käveltiin mm. Puu-Vallilassa. Aivan idyllinen paikka ja lähes keskellä Helsinkiä. Tuolla olisi kiva asua.

This week I was again in Helsinki. I was with my son's wife celebrating her daughter Mimmi graduation. Later we walked in Puu-Vallila ("Wood-Vallila", old wooden house area). Truly an idyllic place and almost in the middle of Helsinki. It would be nice to live there.

Sieltä löytyi pieni söpö kahvila, jossa istuimme ulkona ja nautimme auringosta.

There was a small cute cafe where we sat outside and enjoyed the sun.

On satanut muutaman päivän, mutta eilen illalla oli tauko, joten lähdin kallioille (ja rantaan) kävelemään. Ilta-aurinkokin pilkisti hetken. Sade teki hyvää luonnolle, on jo tosi vihreää. 

Ja hyvää tuo sateen jälkeinen patikointi teki minullekin, vaikka kastuinkin paluumatkalla.

It’s been raining for a few days, but there was a break last night, so I went for a walk on the cliffs (and the beach). Also the sun glanced for a while. The rain did good to nature, it is already really green. 

And hiking after the rain also did me good, although on the way back it started to rain again.

"Turistikierros" jatkuu keskustassa. Näkyi yllättävän paljon ihmisiä keskellä päivää, 

ennen kuin huomasin, että siellähän käveli useampi koululainen.

My "tourist tour" continues in the center. There were a surprising number of people in the middle of the day, before I noticed that several schoolchildren walked there.

Pistäydyin mielenkiintoisessa divarissa. / I stopped by an interesting divar.

Students put allways a student cap on her head on May Day and then some also swim in the pool.

Vaikka oli kaunis päivä, niin oli se myös tuulinen. Hieman kastuin kun puhuri heitti vedet päälleni.
