Sveitsi - Zürich 1 / Switzerland 8

 

Rakastuin Zürichiin, jossa vietimmeVirven kassa koko päivän. 

Kierrettiin vanhaa kaupunkia, mutta pian havaittiin, että koko kaupunki on "vanhaa".

I fell in love with Zurich, where we spent with Virve the whole day.

We toured the old town, but soon we discovered that the whole city is "old".

Raitiovaunuja oli paljon, niitä kulki joka suuntaan, eikä niillä aina ollut liikennevaloja. 

Ihmiset kulki tien yli melkein mistä vaan varoen ratikkaa, ja me heidän perässään.

There were a lot of trams, they went in every direction, and they didn't always have traffic lights.

People crossed the road almost everywhere, watching out for the tram, and we followed them.

Ihania kahviloita. / Lovely cafes.

Kauniita seiniä. / Beautiful walls.

Kapeita katuja ja portaita. / Narrow streets and lots of stairs.

Ja katutöitä oli joka puolella. Tämä oli kapein ja pahin.

And street works were everywhere. This was the narrowest and worst.

Oli tosi pitkä ratikka. / It was really long tram.

Sveitsi - Express juna, Zermat ja Matterhorn / Switzerland 7

Virve järjesti junareissun Clacier Express näköalajunalla Zermatiin ja näkemään Matterhorn vuoren. Paluu oli seuraavana päivänä. Junavaihtojen takia matkasimme kahden päivän aikana yhteensä seitsemällä junalla (kuusi paikallisjunaa ja Express, junavaihdot toimi hyvin). En olisi uskonut, että tässä iässä minusta tulee reppureissaaja. 

Virve organized a train trip on the Clacier Express scenic train to Zermatt and see the Matterhorn mountain. The return was the next day. Due to train changes, we traveled on a total of seven trains in two days (six local trains and the Express, the train changes worked well). I would not have thought that at this age I would become a backpacker.

Junassa oli kiva istua ja katsella erilaisia maisemia. Ja pikkuhiljaa aloimme saavuttaa Alpit.

It was nice to sit on the train and see a lot of different scenery.

And little by little we started to reach the Alps.

Juna pysähtyi hetkeksi, jotta voimme jaloitella ja ottaa kuvia.

The train stopped for a moment so we could walk around and take pictures.

Zermatin juna-asema toivotti tervetulleeksi kaikilla (maailman) kielillä. Ja olihan siellä suomeksikin.

The Zermatt train station welcomed us in all (world) languages. And there was Finnish too.

Matterhornin (4478 m) huippu näkyy. 

Zermatt on suosittu turistikohde laskettelun ja vaelluksen ystäville. Se sijaitsee 1600 metrin korkeudella.

Zermatt is a popular tourist destination for skiing and hiking enthusiasts. 

It is located at an altitude of 1600 meters.

Olin yllättynyt kuinka hauska on matkustaa junalla. Sillä en juuri ole junalla kulkenut (ajan autolla, jos menen vähän pidemmälle, muuten kuljen bussilla ja metrolla). 

Virve oli ihana, kun järjesti tälläisen äiti-tytär reissun meille kahdelle.

I was surprised how much fun it is to travel by train. I've only been on the train a few times (I drive if I'm going a little further, otherwise I'll take the bus and metro). 

Virve was lovely for organizing this mother-daughter trip just for the two of us.

Sveitsi - Vierwaldstättersee / Switzerland 6

 

Lasitehdas, josta kirjoitin edellisessä postauksessani, sijaitsee tämän kauniin Vierwaldstättersee järven rannalla. Järvi on niin erilainen kuin meillä Suomessa. Täällä järveä ympäröi vuoret.

The glass factory, which I wrote about in my previous post, is located on the shore of this beautiful lake Vierwaldstättersee. 

The lake is so different from what we have in Finland. Here the lake is surrounded by mountains.

Kun on lasitehdas vieressä, niin täällä oli paljon lasia, eritoten lasipalloja.

Since there is a glass factory next door, there was a lot of glass here, especially glass balls.

Olisin voinut olla ikuisuuden täällä ja kuvata palloja eri puolilta ja eri valossa.

I could have stayed here forever, photographing the balls from different angles and in different lights.

Oli paikka, jossa pystyi katsomaan maisemia kaleidoskooppien kautta.

There was a place where you could look at landscapes through kaleidoscopes.

Oli laite, jolla voi ohjelmoida suihkulähteen sykäyksiä. Matin mielipuuha.

There was a device that could program the pulses of a fountain. Matti's hobby.

Tänne osa meidän eväistä joutui.

This is where some of our food ended up.

Sveitsi - Lasitehdas Glasi Hergiswill / Switzerland 5

Yksi käyntikohteemme oli lasitehdas Glasi Hergiswil. 

Mielenkiintoinen paikka Vierwaldstättersee-järven rannalla.

One of the places we visited was the glass factory Glasi Hergiswil. 

Interesting place on the shores of Vierwaldstättersee.

Saimme katsella lasinpuhaltajien työtä parvekkeelta.

We got to watch the glassblowers at work from the balcony.

Vaikka kyse oli lasista, niin täällä sait koskea. Voit kokeilla mm. musiikin tuottamista. 

Ja oli monia muita kokeilemisen arvoisia asioita.

Even though it was about glass, you got to touch it here. You can try, for example, make music. 

And there were many other things worth trying.
