Luminen luonto /Snowy nature

Lumi tekee maisemasta omanlaatuisen kauniin. Olen onnellinen asuessani alueella, jossa on edelleen kallioita, metsää ja meri ihan lähellä (vaikka tänne rakennetaan ihan hirveästi uusia taloja).

The snow makes the landscape uniquely beautiful. I am happy to live in an area where there are still 

cliffs, forest and the sea very close (although quite a lot of new houses are being built here).

Ja taas lunta / More snow

Viikonloppuna Valtteri-myrsky toi lunta koko talven edestä. 

Mutta taas on niin kaunista, kun puiden oksat ovat valkoisina.

Over the weekend, it was snowing all over the country, and we also got it a lot in Southern Finland. 

And since the temperature is +/- 1C, the snow stays in the trees, so we also got a beautiful scenery.

"Pientä" ongelmaa saada auto lumihangesta pois.

"Small" problem to get the car out of the snow.

Portaat / Stairs

 

Portaiden puolivälissä. Jos en väärin muista niin tuossa on 185 porrasta. Tähän puoliväliin pääsee myös talojen välissä olevaa tietä pitkin. Minua nuo portaat ei nyt houkuttele lumisuuden ja mahdollisen liukkauden vuoksi.

In the middle of the stairs. I would remember there are ab. 185 steps. This half can also be reached along the road between the houses. I am not attracted to those stairs now because of the snow and possible slipperyness.

Aurinko paistaa / The sun shines

On tosi vaihtelevat ilmat. Joka toinen päivä sataa vettä, sitten pakastuu ja saadaan lisää lunta, ja välillä aurinkokin paistaa. Näin oli lauantaina. Pakkasta oli sopivat -5 C. Oli mukava lenkkelypäivä, tuli n. 11000 askeleen lenkki (ainoa haitta oli kova liukkaus). Nämä kuvat on meidän rantaraitilta, jossa tulee kuvattua eniten.

There are really varying weather. Every other day it rains, then it freezes and gets more snow, and sometimes the sun shines. That was the case on Saturday. The frost was suitable for -5 C. It was a nice jogging day, I walked about 11,000 steps (the only downside was the hard slipperiness). These pictures are from our shoreline, where I usually take the most photos.

Tien pinnalla ja jäällä / On the ground and on ice

Ei se talvi minnekään ollut kadonnut, vaikka vettä satelikin. Tuli uudet (pienet)pakkaset ja uutta lunta.

Nordic walking.

It is still winter, even though it was raining. We got new (small) frosts and new snow.

Tämä eläkeläismies käy vapaaehtoisesti tarkastamassa jään kuntoa, ja laittaa oksia heikkoihin kohtiin, kuten vanhoihin pilkkiavantoihin. Sateet teki jäästä hauraamman. 

Ei ihan heti tee mieli mennä jäälle, vaikka kestää se kuitenkin kävelyn.

This retiree voluntarily goes to check the condition of the ice, and puts the branches in weak spots, like old holes in the ice of ice fishing. The rains made the ice more brittle. 

I'm not going there now, although the ice is strong enough to walk.

 

Ylös-alaisin / The up and down

 

Aurinko on jo iltapäivällä matalalla, ja valaisee enää vain tornitalot. 

Muutama päivä lämpöasteita ja lumi sulaa. Onhan sitä lunta kuitenkin vielä vaikka kuinka paljon, mutta kaunein talvi on nyt ainakin hetkellisesti ohi. Jalankulkuväylät on tosi liukaita, onneksi olen välttynyt kaatumiselta..

The sun is low already in the afternoon, and only illuminates any more the tower blocks.

A few days of heat (+1 C) and snow will melt. After all, there is still a lot of snow, but the most beautiful winter is now over, at least for a while. The walkways are really slippery, luckily I haven’t crashed.

Kello 15.15 ja pian auringosta on vain muisto jäljellä.

At 3:15 p.m. and soon the sun is nothing but a memory left.

Lunta on tullut lisää (samoin pakkanen kiristynyt) ja maisemat on kauttaaltaan valkoisia. 

Uskomatonta, että me etelä-Suomessakin saimme tällaiset talvipäivät.

More snow came (frost is getting tighter too) and the scenery is white throughout.

Sumua / Fog

Tänään oli uskomattoman kaunis sumu lähes koko päivän- Ja kun aurinko hieman paistoi, ei tuullut lainkaan ja keli oli liki nollassa, niin mikäs tuolla jäällä oli kävellellessä. Näpitkään ei jäätynyt. 

Jonkin verran oli ihmisiä liikkeellä, vaikka oli arkipäivä.

Today was an incredibly beautiful fog almost all day. 

And when the sun was shining a little, there was no wind at all and the weather was almost zero, 

it was really nice to walk on the ice.

Vaihteeksi minäkin olen päässyt kuvaan.

Valkoinen luonto / White scenery

 

On taas aika, jolloin värikuvat ovat mustavalkoisia.

There is again the time when color images are black and white.

Ei tule lähdettyä kauemmaksi lenkille kun kotinurkilla on kivoja reittejä.

You shouldn’t go any further for a walking when there are nice routes in the home corners.

Punaista taivaalla / Red in the sky

 

Vuosi alkoi loistavalla ulkoilusäällä. Ja upean värisellä auringonlaskulla.

Päivän pituus on "jo" kuusi tuntia.. ja koko ajan pitenee.

The year started with great outdoor weather. And with a wonderfully colored sunset.

The length of the day is "already" six hours .. and it is getting longer all the time.

Jäällä kävelyä / Walking on the ice

 

Pitihän jäälle päästä kävelemään. Edessä on Kivenlahti. 

I had to go for a walk on the ice. In front there is Kivenlahti, my home place. 

Saatiin mekin etelän ihmiset lunta jouluksi, ja talvinen maisema vaan jatkuu. 

Joulun pyhinä oli pakkasta -14 .. -16 C, mutta nyt siedettävät -4... -5 C. 

We also got snow in southern Finland for Christmas, and the winter landscape just continues.

During the Christmas holidays the temperature was -14 .. -16 C, but now tolerable -4 ... -5 C.

The sun is very low. Makes handsome mannequin legs in the shade.

Pakkanen kiristyy, saas nähdä, saadaanko valkoinen joulu tänne rannikollekin, kuten on luvattu.

The frost is tightening (-12 °C), let's see if we get a white Christmas here on the coast as promised.
