Kesäkuvia / Summer pictures

Kesä on melkein lopuillaan. Ja onkin ollut outo kesä. Ensin oli se keuhkokuume keväällä, jota parantelin pitkään, samoin kuin samaan aikaan oli muutto uuteen kotiin. Ja muutama viikko sitten vatsassani todettiin sappirakkotulehdus, ja koko sappirakko leikattiin pois. 

Tytär Virve lensi Sveitsistä luokseni viikoksi, ja olikin mukavan tuntuista kun olin huollettavana. Hän teki ruokaa, laittoi kävelee joka päivä pariin otteeseen, kävi kaupassa, ym ym. Tehtiin myös yhdessä autoajeluita, mm käytiin Porvoossa. Sieltä kuvia myöhemmin. Ja kaiken lisäksi Virve vielä juoksi aamuisin n. 5 km lenkkejä rantaa pitkin. 

Nyt hän on jo kotona, ja kotini tuntuu hiljaiselta. Olen jo toipunut kutakuinkin, mutta vielä en lähtisi esim tanssimaan.

Summer is almost over. And it has been a strange summer. First there was the pneumonia in the spring, which took a long time to heal, as well as moving to a new home. And a few weeks ago I was diagnosed with cholecystitis in my stomach and the entire gallbladder was cut out.

My daughter Virve flew to me from Switzerland for a week and it felt good when I was being looked after. She cooked, made me walk a few times a day, went shopping, etc. We went also on car rides together and visited Porvoo, for example. Pictures from there later. And on top of all that, Virve ran ab. 5 km along the beach in the every morning.

Westendin rantaa / Beach in Westend

 

Kävinpähän iltasella katsomassa Westendin rantaa Espoossa (vajaa 10 km kotoa).

I went to see Westend Beach (In Espoo) in the evening (less than 10 km from home).

Tänne voisi periaatteessa kävellä rantatietä pitkin, mutta silloin matka olisi paljon pitempi kuin 10 km, kun ranta kiemurtelee ja aina ei ihan rannalle pääse. Ja paluu olisi "kuolemaksi" :). 

Eli mielutien menen autolla ja kävelen sitten paikan päällä.

In principle, you could walk here along the coastal road, but then the journey would be much longer than 10 km, as the coast winds and you can't always get to the beach. And the return would be "death" :)

So I prefer to go by car and then walk on site.

Illan kävely / Walking in the evening

 

Ilta-aika on parasta aikaa kävelemiseen, ja eritoten rantaraitilla. Muuten on liian kuumaa.

Evening time is the best time to walk, and especially along the beach. Otherwise it's too hot.

En ollenkaan kaipaa Euroopan yli 35 °C lämpöjä, jopa yli 40 °C. 

Myötätuntoni on heidän puolellaan, jotka joutuvat kärvistelemään moisessa kuumuudessa. 

Kun jo täkäläinen 26-29 °C on liikaa. Paras lämpö olisi normaali Suomen kesälämpö, eli 22-23 °C.

I don't miss the temperatures of Europe above 35 °C, even above 40 °C.

My sympathy is with those who have to suffer in such heat.

Because the 26-29 °C is already too much which is here now. 

The best temperature would be normal Finnish summer temperature, i.e. 22-23 °C.

Sumua ja kiviä / Mist and stones

 

Eräänä päivä nousi äkkiä sumu, joka hetkeksi peitti koko maiseman. Mutta sitä ei kestänyt kauan.

One day, a mist suddenly arose, covering the entire landscape for a moment. But it didn't last long.

Kävelen paljon rantaraitilla, ja siellä näkee esim. tällaista.

I walk along the beach a lot, and you can see things like these.

Auringonlasku pitkästä aikaa / Sunset for a long time

Taas vaihteeksi puoli päivää aurinkoa, josta seurasi upea auringonlasku. 

Oli ihana kävellä illalla rantatietä pitkin ja ihailla aina niin tuttuja maisemia.

Half a day of sunshine, followed by a magnificent sunset.

It was lovely to walk along the beach road in the evening and admire the ever so familiar scenery.

 

Lumetonta / Snowless

Lumet on liki sulaneet, ainoastaan merellä on vielä ohut kerros jäätä. 

Onkohan toiveajattelua, että talvi oli hyvin lyhyt.

The snow has almost melted in southern Finland, only a thin layer of ice remains on the sea.

Is it wishful thinking that it was a very short winter?

Kolme puuta / Three trees

 

Kolme kirsikkapuuta rantaraitin varrella. 

Ties kuinka monta kuvaa olen näistäkin ohimennessä ottanut.

Three cherry trees along the shoreline. 

I wonder how many pictures I've taken of these as I pass by.

Lunta ja kylmää /Snow and cold

Meri on jäässä, talvi tuli. Pakkasta n –5 ... –8 °C, on kylmää ennen kuin pakkaseen tottuu.

The sea is frozen, winter has arrived. The frost ab. -5 ... -8 °C, it's cold until you get used to frost.

Taas on aika vuodesta, jolloin laiturit on tyhjiä ja veneet talvisäilössä pressun alla.

It's again time of year when the docks are empty, and the boats are in winter storage under tarpaulins.

Joku uskalikko on käynyt luistimilla (?) jäällä.

Some daredevil has gone on skates (?) on the ice.

Avantoon, kylmään veteen. On terveellistä, mutta jätän väliin.

He's going to the hole in the ice, to swim in the cold water. It's healthy, but I'll skip it.

 

Harmaa päivä / Gray day

 

On ollut tosi huonoja ilmoja, lunta satanut pariin otteeseen ja välillä tullut vettä. 

Vihdoin viitsin lähteä kameran kanssa ulos.

The weather has been really bad, it's snowed a couple of times and sometimes it's rained.

I finally went outside with my camera.

Rantatorille tuli kesällä kahvila, ja nyt se on taas auki viikonloppuisin. 

Siellä myydään mm. riisipuuroa, lämmintä glögiä, kahvia ja pullaa.

A café opened at the seaside market in the summer, and it is now open again on weekends. 

It sells rice porridge, warm mulled wine, coffee and buns, among other things.

Sininen hetki ennen yötä / Blue moment before night
