Träskanda / Diana-temppeli

 

Kun kävelee puistosta ulos ympäröivään metsään, niin sieltä löytää huvimajan, "Diana-temppelin".

When you walk out of the park into the surrounding forest, you'll find a gazebo, the "Diana temple".

Diana-temppeli on myös 800-luvulta. Se on yksinäisellä paikalla mäen päällä keskellä metsää. Niinpä se on myös otollinen nuorison kokoontumispaikka. Mutta mikä kumma, kun aina pitää myös sotkea ja rikkoa kaikki. Kun asuin aikanaan tämän puiston vieressä yli 30 v sitten, niin silloinkin oli graffitteja, ja kaupunki puhdisti, ja nuoriso taas sotki. Sisäkaton maalaus on suojattu lasilla.

The Temple of Diana also dates back to the 9th century. It is in a secluded spot on a hill in the middle of a forest. So it is also a popular gathering place for young people. But why you always have to mess up and break everything. When I lived next to this park more than 30 years ago, there was graffiti even then, and the city cleaned up, and the youth made a mess etc. The interior ceiling painting is protected by glass.

Taas Träskändan puistossa, jossa viimeksi olin keväällä (katso täältä). 

Nyt on ihan erinäköistä, on runsasta vihreää. Ja mikä parasta, tämä sijaitsee lähellä.

Piparkakkutalo on vanha puurakennus 1800-luvulta, joka toimi aikoinaan asuinrakennuksena. 

Nyt siinä on kahvila.

The Gingerbread House is an old wooden building from the 19th century, which once served as a residential building. Now there is a cafe.

Träskändan kartano (1700-luvulta) on historiallisesti arvokas paikka ja on suojeltu. Rakennus ei ole koskaan ollut museo eikä sinne pääse sisään. Kauan sitten siellä oli vanhainkoti, ja isot salit ym pilkottiin pieniksi huoneiksi. Sitten siellä toimi koululaisten iltapäiväkerho ja muuta sellaista. Nyt se on ollut monta vuotta tyhjillään. Kaupunki etsii vuokralaista, joka kunnostaisi sen ja tekisi sinne jotain kivaa, esim hotellin ja ravintolan. Julkisivu valmistui viime keväänä, ja puistoa on hoidettu koko ajan.

Träskända Manor (from the 18th century) is a historically valuable place and is protected. The building has never been a museum and you cannot enter it. A long time ago it was a home for the elderly, and the large halls etc. were cut into small rooms. Then there was an afternoon club for school children and other such things. It has been empty for many years now. The city is looking for a tenant who would renovate it and do something nice there, for example a hotel and restaurant. The facade was completed last spring, and the park has been maintained all the time.

Sade loppui ja vietin viikolla lämpöisen päivän Hvittreskin museolla, 

ja kävelin luontopolkua alueen ympärillä.

The rain stopped and I spent yesterday a warm day at the Hvittresk Museum, 

and walked the nature trail around the area.

Olen käynyt täällä monta kertaa, se on niin lähellä, vain jotain 7 km/15 min (autolla). 

Aina löytyy uutta katsottavaa ja kuvattavaa. Nyt pääasia oli luontopolku. 

I've been here many times, it's so close, only about 7 km/15 min (by car).

There is always something new to see and photograph. Now the main thing was the nature path.

Hvitträsk on arkkitehtikolmikon Eliel Saarinen, Herman Gesellius ja Armas Lindgren itselleen Kirkkonummelle suunnittelema erämaa-ateljee ja asuinrakennus, joka toimii nykyisin museona. 

Se valmistui vuonna 1903.

Hvitträsk is a wilderness studio and residential building designed by the architectural trio Eliel Saarinen, Herman Gesellius and Armas Lindgren for themselves in Kirkkonummi, which now serves as a museum. 

It was completed in 1903.

Protestimarssi / Demonstration march

Satuin olemaan Helsingissä Mannerheimintiellä, kun Elokapinan protesti marssi tuli kohdalle. Olihan se näky. Nyt he kävelevät rauhallisesti huutaen iskulauseita, mutta pidemmälle päästyään he tukkivat katuja ja aiheuttivat liikennekaaoksen. Sadesää ei varmaan ollut kivaa.

 I happened to be in the center of Helsinki when the Elokapina protest march arrived. It was a sight. 

They are protesting against the government's climate targets. It was a really rainy day. 

Now they were peaceful shouting slogans, but later they sat in the street and caused a traffic jam. 

The police stopped the riot. 

Extinction Rebellion is a UK-founded global environmental movement, with the stated aim of using nonviolent civil disobedience to compel government action to avoid tipping points in the climate system, biodiversity loss, and the risk of social and ecological collapse. 

Extinction Rebellion uses high arrest rates as a way to gain attention.

Here in Finland they (Elokapina in Finnish) block our streets in the city center and paint walls of public buildings. They cause a lot of trouble, even if the cause they are defending is good.

Sumua ja kiviä / Mist and stones

 

Eräänä päivä nousi äkkiä sumu, joka hetkeksi peitti koko maiseman. Mutta sitä ei kestänyt kauan.

One day, a mist suddenly arose, covering the entire landscape for a moment. But it didn't last long.
