Huh hellettä / Heat

On tullut oltua päivät uimarannalla Lillin ja Leevin kanssa. Vesi 24-26 C, ilma 30-33 C varjossa. Ei tämä ole ollenkaan kivaa tämä kuumuus. Hetken helpotuksen toi torstainen ukkonen rankkasateineen, joka tiputti lämpötilan kymmenen astetta. Mutta hetkelliseksi se jäi, sillä lisää lämpöä ennustetaan. Kyllä toi 20-22 C olisi ihan sopiva kesälämpö. Kun lämpö nousee sisälläkin 28-30 C. Mutta lapset nauttii, ei tule vilu vedessä. Ihme ettei räpylät kasva varpaiden väliin.

 

It has been days at the beach with Lill and Leevi. Water 24-26 C, air 30-33 C in the shade. This is not at all nice with this exceptional heat. A moment of relief was brought by a thunderstorm on Thursday with heavy rains that dropped the temperature ten degrees. Siltaheijastus / The bridge reflections

 

Järven pinta oli aivan peilityyni ja silta antoi upeat heijastukset.

Lippulaiva / Services center

 

500 metriä (puoli kilometriä!) Lippulaivaa (se on kuulemma tontin sivu). Tämä on suuri rakennusurakka (n. 44 000 vuokrattavaa neliötä), aloitettu vuonna 2017 ja valmis pitäisi olla vuonna 2022. Onhan siellä myös Metroasema (metro valmistunee 2023) ja bussivarikko maan alla, sekä jätti iso kirjasto, ravintoloita ynnä muuta mukavaa kaikkien kauppojen lisäksi.

Tuonne tontin viereen tulee vielä 2-3 tornitaloa asumista varten.

500 meters (half a kilometer!) local services center (it is reportedly the length of the plot). It's real huge construction contract (about 44000 square meters for rent). It started in 2017 and should be completed in 2022. There is also Metro station (the subway will be completed in 2023) and bus depot underground plus a huge library, restaurants etc. in addition to all stores.

Right there next to the plot becomes another 2-3 tower houses for living.

This is a construction site fence. Behind it rises the "Lippulaiva".

Vesileikkien aika / Time for water games

Kesä ja helteet saapuivat, ja minusta tuli taas "mummi, joka vie lapset uimaan, kun vanhemmat on töissä".  Koko viikko oli lämmintä, mutta eilen perjantaina merivesi oli huikeat +24 C. Olihan tuo ilmakin varjossa +26 C. Lapset voivat olla vedessä jopa 5 tuntia evästaukoineen, eli just niin kauan kuin minä jaksan olla rannalla.. :)

Summer and the heat came, and I became again "the grandma who takes children a swim because parents are at work". The whole week was hot, but the sea water was yesterday a staggering 24 C. Air was in the shade 26 C. Children can stay in the water up to 5 hours with some lunch breaks, that is, just as long as I'm able to be on the beach .. :)

Välillä minun oli istuttava kahvilan varjon alla.

Sometimes I had to sit under the shade of a cafe.

Lapset olivat pirteitä vielä illallakin, mutta minä olin aina ihan naatti, vaikken tehnyt mitään.

The kids were still cheerful even in the evening, but I was always pretty tired, even though I did nothing.

Puijon hyppyrimäki / Ski jumping hill

Vielä viime viikon Kuopion reissulta. Ajettiin iltapäivällä Puijon hyppyrimäelle. Luulin, että mennään autolla ylös Puijon Tornille, mutta ei - noustiin 378 rappusta ja 100 metrin nousua hyppyrimäen vierestä. Ajattelin, etten voi olla huonompi kuin nuoriso, joten perässä menin. 

Ei se kapuaminnen ollutkaan niin kamalaa.

Once more post from the Kuopio excursion. In Kuopio there is Puijo ski jumping hill and in the afternoon we drove there. I thought we would go up to Puijo Tower by car, but no - we climbed 378 stairs and climbed 100 meters. I thought I couldn’t be worse than the youth, so I followed suit. It wasn't terrible at all.

Hyppytorneihin ei tietenkään päästy (ei olisi tullut mieleenikään kiivetä ylös). Ja torni oli kiinni. 

Of course, the jump towers could not be reached 

(I wouldn´t have climbed, even though it would have been a possibility). 

And the Tower was closed.

Kuopion torilla / Market place

Kaupungintalo / Town hall

Milla kävi tervehtimässä Kuopion työkavereita, joita hän ei ole koskaan tavannut kasvotusten. Oli kuulemma mielenkiintoinen tapaaminen, nähdä puhelinäänet elävänä. Tutustuimme sillä aikaa Kuopion toriin. Oli tosi kuuma päivä, varjossa +23 C.

Milla went to greet colleagues of Kuopio, whom she has never met face to face. At that time we got to know Kuopio market square. It was a really hot day, in the shade +23 C.

Ei ihan ruuhkaksi asti asiakkaita. / Not so many customers.

Kuopio on Pohjoissa-Savossa  Kallaveden varrella oleva maakuntakeskus, pinta-alaa on n. 4326 km2, josta vesistöjä 1085 km2 (aika paljon järviä). Asukkaita on n. 120000.

Kuopio is a provincial center along Kallavesi (a big water region) in northern Savonia, the area is about 4326 km2, of which 1085 km2 is a body of water (quite a lot of lakes). The population is ab. 120000.

Hornetit Kuopiossa

Olimme pojan perheen kanssa keskiviikkona Kuopiossa (pitkä ajomatka, sillä etäisyyttä on n. 430 km). 

Aamulla aikaisin lähdettiin ja yöllä tultiin takaisin. Ja tänään toivutaan..

I was with my boy's family on Wednesday in Kuopio (a long drive because the distance is ab. 430 km). 

We left early in the morning and came back at night. And today recover from the trip..

On oikeastaan aika peloittavaa, kun se taapertaa kohti.

Our own almost tame swan wants to ask food. It's really pretty scary as it walks towards.
