Sveitsi - Reichenbach putous / Switzerland 4

Aareschlucht rotkolta ajettiin lähellä olevaan Meiringenin kylään 

ja noustiin funikulaarilla Reichenbach putouksille. 

Funikulaari kulki 714 metrin matkan nousten 224 metriä. Oli kiva kokemus. 

From the Aareschlucht gorge we drove to the nearby village of Meiringen 

and we took the funicular to the Reichenbach Falls. 

The funicular traveled 714 meters, rising 224 meters. It was a nice experience.

Perillä odotti putous, joka on 120 m pitkä.

A waterfall, which is 120 m long, awaited us there.

Putouksia on kolme, mutta tämä on kuuluisin. Tarinan mukaan Sherlock Holmes kukisti professori Moriartyn kyseisellä putouksella ja syöksyi itsekin kuolemaansa – joskin myöhemmin selvisi ettei Holmes ollutkaan kuollut. There are three falls, but this is the most famous. According to the story, Sherlock Holmes defeated Professor Moriarty here and both fell to their deaths – although it was later discovered that Holmes was not dead. There is a very small Sherlock museum here that tells the story of the accident.

Tältä yläasemalta oli portaat ylöspäin toisille putouksille, mutta ne jätin suosiolla väliin. 

Virve ja Matti lähti kapuamaan ja totesivat palattuaan, että oli hyvä etten tullut.

From this upper station there were stairs up to the other falls, but I skipped them.

Virve and Matti went to climb and said when they returned that it was a good thing I didn't come.

Tuolla varjoisassa kohdassa vasemmalla näkyy pienenä tasanne jossa odottelin Virveä ja Mattia. 

In that shady spot left, you can see the small plateau where I was waiting for Virve and Matti.

Sveitsi - Aareschlucht rotko / Switzerland 3

Käytiin upeassa Aareschlucht rotkossa. Kiviaines on kalkkikiveä ja 1,4 km ja 200 m syvän luonnon ihmeen ovat muokanneet jääkauden sulamisvedet. Rotkon läpi kävelemiseen kului noin 45 minuuttia. 

Oli näkemisen arvoinen kokemus olla rotkon pohjalla Alppien ympäröimänä.

We visited the magnificent Aareschlucht gorge. The Care Gorge is a 1400 meter long and 200 meter deep natural wonder. The rock is limestone and the gorge was shaped by the meltwater of the Ice Age. It took around 45 minutes to walk through the gorge. It was a sight to behold to be at the bottom of a gorge surrounded by the Alps.

Kun tulimme ulos rotkosta, oli edessä henkeäsalpaavan kaunis laakso.

When we came out of the gorge, a breathtakingly beautiful valley lay ahead.

Sveitsi - kanava, muraaleja ja järvi / Switzerland 2

Kävimme Sursee kaupungissa, jossa on kiva kanava keskellä vanhoja taloja.

We visited the town of Sursee, which has a nice canal amidst old houses.

Kaupungista jatkoimme matkaa järvelle (en nyt muista, minkä niminen järvi oli, mutta iso se oli). 

Parkkipaikalta piti alittaa junarata. Alkulkukäytävän seinät oli maalattu kauttaaltaan muraaleilla, 

jotka esittivät talojen seiniä

From town we continued to the lake (I can't remember the name of the lake now, but it was big).

From the parking area we had to go under the train tracks. The walls of the underpass were painted all over with murals, representing the walls of houses.

Ensin me kuljettiin Tropical-nimisen rantakeskuksen läpi. Oi sitä värien sinfoniaa.

First we passed through a beach resort called Tropical. Oh, what a symphony of colors.

Rannalla oli huikaiseva näköala vastapäiväiseen rantaan. 

Täällä istuimme, nautimme kahvista ja kakusta ja ihastelimme maisemia.

The beach had a stunning view of the opposite shore. 

Here we sat, enjoyed coffee and cake, and admired the scenery.

Sveitsi - Linna ja ruusutarha / Switzerland 1...

Olen kotona, selvisin Sveitsin matkasta hengissä. Näin ja koin paljon, kävimme monissa paikoissa, lähellä ja vähän kauempana. Tässä alkuun lähellä oleva linna, jonne emme päässeetkään sisään, kun se oli just sinä päivänä kiinni. No, me kierreltiin linnaa ulkopuolelta ja ihailtiin maisemaa.

I'm home, I survived the trip to Switzerland. I saw and experienced a lot, we visited many places, nearby and a little further away. Here's the castle near, which we couldn't even enter because it was closed that day. Well, we walked around the castle from the outside and admired the scenery.

Poikkesimme kotimatkalla ruusupuutarhaan. Aivan ihana paikka. 

Täällä joimme kahvit ja söimme leivokset.

We stopped by the rose garden on our way home. It was a lovely place.

We had coffee and pastries here.

Matka oli täydellinen, ihmettelen, miksi olen pitänyt muutaman vuoden paussia. Oli ihana nähdä Virve ja pojat. Onneksi Virve on puhunut pojille suomea, aloitti kun he olivat vauvoja, ja nyt he ymmärtävät minua, ja puhuvat myös suomea. Aina on joku sana hakusessa, mutta onneksi on äiti lähellä (Matti, 16 v. kysyy) tai joku käännösohjelma kännyssä (Mikko 18 v hakee puuttuvat sanat sieltä). 

Rita A, kysyit. Virve asuu Reidenissä, n 65 km Zurichistä, eli on saksankielistä aluetta.

The trip was perfect, I wonder why I took a break for a few years. It was wonderful to see Virve and the boys. Luckily Virve has spoken Finnish to the boys, started when they were babies, and now they understand me, and also speak Finnish. There is always a word to look for, but luckily there is a mother nearby (Matti, 16 years old asks) or some translation program on the mobile phone (Mikko, 18 years old, looks up the missing words there).
