Kevät saapui vihdoinkin / Spring finally arrived

Kevät tuli yhdessä yössä ja vihreys kasvoi silmissä. Tänään oli lämpöä 20 °C.

Spring came in one night and greenery grew in the eyes. Today here was 20 °C.

Kävelin ristiin rastiin Kivenlahtea ja nautin vihdoinkin keväästä ja lämmöstä.

I walked around Kivenlahti and finally got to enjoy spring and warmth.

Meillä rakennetaan / We are building 2

Kotikatuni toisessa päässä, jonne Metroasemakin rakennetaan, on ollut talvesta lähtien tietyöt käynnissä, mitä lie maan alle laitetaankaan. Aikanaan tuo matala valkoinen talo puretaan ja tilalle tulee 22-kerroksinen tornitalo. Kivenlahdessa on nyt n. 8000 asukasta, mutta suunnitteilla on nostaa määrä n. 25000 asukkaaksi vuoteen 2050 mennessä.

At the other end of my home street, where the Metro station also comes, street work has been going on since the winter, something is done there underground. In time, the low white house will be demolished and replaced by a 22-storeys tower house. Now Kivenlahti has about 8000 inhabitants, but there are plans to increase the number about to 25000 by 2050.

Kaikkialla Espoossa Metroasemien lähettyvillä käy valtava rakennusbuumi.

Vaikka LänsiMetron jatke avataan liikenteelle vasta 2023 (alkuvuosi/loppuvuosi?) niin Kivenlahden Metroasema on jo saanut punaisen Metro-tunnuksen. Vuonna 2017 avattiin puolet LänsiMetrosta, eli 14 km ja 8 asemaa. Rakenteilla oleva jatke käsittää 7 km ja 5 asemaa, joista Kivenlahti on viimeinen. 

A lot is being built in Espoo near metro stations. Although the extension of WestMetro will be opened to traffic only in 2023 (beginning or end of the year?), Kivenlahti Metro Station has already received the red Metro-symbol. Half of WestMetro has been built in 2017, it is 14 km and 8 stations. The extension under construction comprises 7 km and 5 stations, of which Kivenlahti is the last one.

Niittykummussa rakennetaan / Construction in Niittykumpu

 

Espoon Metroasemien ympäristöt rakennetaan ahtaasti täyteen taloja, entiset metsät täyttyy uusilla asukkailla. Esim. Niittykummussa on tällä hetkellä noin 5000 asukasta, mutta asukasmäärän odotetaan kasvavan 12 000:een vuoteen 2030 mennessä. Kalliiseen metroon täytyy saada paljon matkustajia.

The vicinity of Espoo metro stations will be built cramped full of houses, the former forests will fill with new inhabitants. For example, Niittykumpu currently has now about 5000 inhabitants, but the population is expected to grow to 12000 by the year 2030. Expensive subway line will need to get more passengers.

Sama tapahtuu myös omassa lähiössäni, Kivenlahdessa. 

The same will also happen in my own suburb, Kivenlahti.

Alas Niittykummun Metron pyöräparkkiin pääsi myös portaita pitkin, ja siellä oli seiniin maalattu seeproja.

Stairs also took me down to bice park in Niittykumpu's  Metro and there were many zebras painted on the walls.
